Forgot to say 8 o'clock tonight :-)

I agree Joan...
I did like the story and the mother had been the one doing the research.
I like it when they don't just concentrate on one person and this covered both sides of the family.

Enjoyed this one tonight again, very interesting and also
prefer it when more than one being researched.

Amanda Holden got a bit carried away with herself as usual,
not my favourite along with Cheryl but more interested in their
family history.

I thoroughly enjoyed the programme.
I do envy them having access to the experts. They get to see information that may never be available to the rest of us.
I'm not a fan of Amanda Holden but it was an interesting story. :-)

I agree - not a bad episode - shame about it being Amanda Holden - thinks too much of herself.

i did like mum though & the pot of ashes.

Hi Von,

Hope you enjoyed last nights episode I found it very interesting.
Expected her to get upset about the slave trade but lovely to see
that a good result.

Feeling a bit better today thanks <3

Sorry I missed your last post Emma.

Pleased to hear you are feeling better.

I'm not a fan of Cheryl Cole but there is always something interesting in the programmes so I will be watching. Thank you for the reminder.

Although OH recognised the name, I'd never heard of her.
Come to that, I couldn't hear her when she was talking to someone else as her diction wasn't clear.

This episode unintentionally reveals how some of the 'research' is done. It's pretty obvious they'd found family historians with mutual relatives.
- original Master certificate and other associated documents
- original photo in a frame
- letter from 'a relative' telling her about their mutual great? grandfather.

Are these celebrities given questions to ask the professional researchers, or are they lacking in general knowledge?
The ship disappeared. What happened to it? Err...it sank!

Overall the programme was educational but not exactly gripping.

Same here had to nudge myself to keep me awake,
her voice is soooo droning.
When she opened the letter thought she was going to
take a rest, what a time.

Seen better.

Have to agree with you all.

On the plus side, however, at least they weren't all monied people or from the aristocracy which was refreshing.

Joan - I wondered about the charwoman too but thought it may be an age thing as it's not a common expression now.

Not sure about the changes in her length of hair, but the style certainly changed. Can't really criticise that, in this age of electric straighteners and curling tongs.
