I was pondering earlier on if I should bother to resurrect my deck-chair & head down the road to the beach to refresh my dwindling tan.

A quick look out of the front window indicated that I would be wasting my time. I'm sure that's a stream of sea-spray rising over the horizon, aided by wind & lashing rain.

Who'd be anxious about returning to this spectacle on a delayed flight from Egypt?

GP, if you venture into town and ever eat (! Wait, I've not finished) in stores, BHS has its Christmas dinners on the menu. If they've sold out, as they had when a friend and I visited last week, try the fish pie. It's new on the menu and absolutely delicious. :-)

Ann, we have the same lashing-down weather so we're in for the day - and we, too, have the lights on. :-)

We have a wet and windy start to the day in my corner of Kent :-( and the forecast is for a cloudy day with outbreaks of heavy rain for much of the morning along with strong winds :-( but this afternoon although it will remain windy :-( the rain will turn drizzly and eventually clear away by late afternoon :-) and it will feel mild again with temperatures today of about 60°F :-)

So wherever you are and whatever you will be doing this weekend :-) take care :-) be safe :-) stay dry :-) enjoy yourself ;-) but don't forget to wear your smile ;-)

And remember it is a sure sign you are getting older ;-) when you start switching the lights off to save money ;-) instead of switching them off for romantic reasons :-D

GP, if you ever get nearer to mackem land, there's a pub (was called the Three Horshoes I think) near Nissan that has a Snickers cake. People do the Snickers challenge to see if they can actually finish the cake. It's massive, square, and chockablock with calories, obviously. I know three people who've tried to finish it and failed - and I'm talking about young men here, much younger than me.

Entertaining just watching them try to eat it, I think :-D

Blimey but it is monsoon weather here. Chucking it down, but not cold at all.

I bought myself a new rain jacket a few weeks back, and it came in useful this morning. Brilliant, the rain just rolls off the fabric. I have never had one like this before. I am very impressed. However..................me poor tootsie got soaked.

Home again jiggety jig and now have changed into something dry and am NOT going out again!

My upmarket supermarket is selling 6 bottle of wine with 25% off, so that is my Christmas wine list done.
