mornin' gang - just surfaced after an horrendous night!!! my pal rang me - her 93 year old Dad had a severe pain in his leg and after waiting about ten hours for an ambulance to take him to the Royal Gwent - he couldn't get in her car cos he couldn't bend his leg, she had to go in the ambulance with him so had no transport - at midnight she called me to collect her - well I'm not familiar with that hospital or Newport, so I set off with some trepidation!! first hurdle was Jct 32 on the M4, just up the road from me - half the entrances and exits were closed and I ended up going up to the next village instead - managed to traverse the M4 intersection twice - it's a mile around - traffic cones - millions of them everywhere and gangs of roadmen digging up the road surfaces - got on the M4 eventually and headed for Newport - I hate motorways and in the dark, even moreso - missed the Newport exit and carried on to the next - but made a slip up and ended up back on the M4 heading for London - managed to turn round at the next exit and made it to the hospital - never been there before and getting in the building was a nightmare - managed it in the end Poor chap was sitting in an armchair and that is where he still is!!! he spent the night in the chair - they're hoping to find a bed for him and do a scan on his leg - I got home at 2:00 am and couldn't sleep - eventually must have dropped off around 4:00 - don't want another night like that one

Hi Sweetpea :-D <3...the poor man having to wait that long for an ambulance and also in hospital too ....unfortunately its the way things are in certain hospitals .....He must be so tired too....I hope he is comfortable and in not too much pain Ann....

As for you Sweetpea, how lovely are you to go and get your friend and especially at night on the icy roads.....a lovely friend as always <3 <3
