Good Afternoon Roll Callers :-) :-) <3
It was an awful morning here, hammering it down, but humid! I had loads of washing, so I was not amused at having to have the radiators on yet again! :-| :-|
Grandson 1 is going with his Mum and Stepfather, siblings and his girlfriend (Mum invited her) to Longleat. They are leaving Monday, stopping over in a Travel Lodge (I think it is) spending Tuesday in Longleat. Staying overnight again, Longleat Wednesday and home in the evening. At least I think it's that way around! :-D
Communication is always a problem here, and so I didn't realise it was this Monday, so hastily washing, drying and ironing! :-D
Thankyou for your get well wishes. I don't think it was food poisoning / bug now, as it cleared up quite quickly, plus OH (who ate the same was ok) I think it was probably a flare up of IBS / Diverticulitis.
:-)Pat Your Daughter's career sounds absolutely wonderful. How exciting! And not having to be in the same place, or do the same thing all the time. I'm glad that they all respect her and follow her lead. As you say, she's tiny, and some men can be "full of it!" with women in the workplace!
It's good that she can go into the schools, colleges etc. to encourage girls to take on such a career. She sounds an amazing person. You must be very, very proud!:-)
I'm glad you had a lovely evening, just you and OH! I'm selective, and enjoy "my programmes" unlike OH who will watch every single thing that's on! :-D :-D
:-)Kandj I hope the weather has not been too humid for you today. Like you, I hate that kind of heat, especially since "the change"! And I totally agree with you about time going faster! I've no idea where it has gone!:-0
Yes, it is very sad about Ryan Jones! :-( But as Pat said on the Rugby Thread, it is better they listen to advice, and quit before it becomes even a bigger problem. Ryan has been struggling with injuries for quite some time!
Well, I'm just getting ready for Radio Jem going on air!! ;-) :-D :-D
Laterz ;-) :-D :-D <3

Don't like this humidity one little bit. Not only has hubby found it difficult to breath but I have felt weary most of today. Done a job and sat down, done another job and sat down. This is how it has been and it's not like me at all. I blame the muggy weather.
Pat, I agree with Jem and having read your posting feel this is an amazing career that your daughter has chosen. She obviously is good at her job or the men would soon be telling her. You have every right to be two very proud parents.
Jem, that sounds like a nice treat for Grandson1 and girlfriend to enjoy with the rest of your family this weekend. I hope the weather is good and everyone enjoys it all.
Glad that you are over your sikky bug. Well done on Radio Jem. Shame about the score boo hoo.
Just read about the Hawker Hunter jet that has crashed killing 7 people at an air show today. Condolences to the families and friends of all who are affected.

Evening all :-)
We've had problems with humidity. Had to dry bedding overnight across the settees as they didn't dry properly outside yesterday. Looked like we were decorating. :-D
We can't do too much when it's like that so I've watched Jennifer Ennis Hill run the 800 metres and get gold for the heptathlon, the grand prix and a football match. :-)
Hope your feeling much better by now Jem.
I'm proud of both my two. Son hated school yet went to college for 4 years to be a chef. He is very good but it's not too well paid.
Here's daughter scrubbed up with, as she calls him, Pa, I'm Ma. :-D OH was just getting over a slipped disc when this was taken. She actually addresses cards to us as Me Pa or Me Ma then our address. Just don't know where she gets such silly ideas from.
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/18020561
Hard to think of her sorting out ditches and drainage.:-S
Going to watch Tony Robinson this evening. See if I want to watch the series. The children loved his series Maid Marion all those years ago. Always made them laugh.
The Everton v Man City match was played in rain and it's raining now in North Notts so looks like your humid weather could well be over Kandj so you'll be pleased. Hope your OH's breathing is easier now.
Had fun with Radio Jem last night, I was reading out some of the comments to OH he laughed at some of them but I think he's decided we're somewhat :-S. What does he know, after all he's male. ;-)
Perhaps we ought to award Jem - Reporter of the Year after the World Cup. Shh Kandj don't tell her.
Hope you all have a lovely evening and a peaceful night. :-) <3

Hello All
What a night!! We both were fast asleep and the smoke alarm went off VERY LOUD!! Frightened the life out of the two of us. As hubby is a poorly man, I went to check out all the rooms and thankfully no smoke or anything visible that would cause the smoke alarm to activate at 1.10am in the morning. Neither of us could settle back to sleep and he has been exhausted and mega weary all day today.
Yes, we have had rain here. Thunder and lightening too last night so it's not as humid or muggy which is a blessing. Rain forecast for most of this week but the gardens are so dry its much needed and a job less for me to do when it rains.
We also watched Jennifer Ennis-Hill.... what an amazing athlete she is and such a beautiful natural glowing face, always smiling bless her. She is a real star imho.
Pat, WOW.... is that really Miss February?? Your daughter is stunning! A lovely photograph of Pa and daughter looking happy and relaxed together. Loving the Me Pa and Me Ma names ha ha. She obviously has a sense of humour too. Our son in law is a Chef and we know all about working antisocial hours with him.
That is a good idea for Radio Jem. Pat, be assured that your secret is safe with me.
Jem, I hope that you haven't lost your voice during the rugby match. I still haven't got a clue about the rules but will leave all the technicalities to you (and Pat) but I'll practice the pom pom twirls if Pat will pass them across for the next match.
I'm sure that your daughter and family will enjoy their time away and perhaps you can relax and enjoy some quiet relaxing time until they get back home again.
Off to bed now. Just hope the smoke alarm doesn't go off in the wee small hours!!
Goodnight all, I wish sweet dreams to everyone who reads Roll Call tonight.

Evening all :-)
Cooler less humid day today. Have a friend popping in tomorrow. She's elderly and it's quite a walk from her house to the hairdresser's. It's downhill to it but uphill from so as we're half way she stops off for a coffee and a chat.
We're off out tomorrow night for a meal. It's a Chines buffet up the club.
Yes Kandj that's Miss February and that's why they want her to talk to the pupils at school. She doesn't look like a science geek and isn't a stropping, tall female. It's important to get people interested in engineering in all it's guises and especially important for the girls to look at her and know they can deal with the equipment if she can.
Thank you for calling her stunning, I'm her mum so I'm biased :-D
Yes chef's hours are very unsocial, we told our son but he was determined to do it.
Glad you agree about Radio Jem, we'll keep it quiet ;-)
Poor you being disturbed by the fire alarm. A friend had theirs go off, there was a spider's web inside and I know dust can trigger it. OH used to clean ours out every year when he changed the battery. We used up the batteries in the TV, radio or video hand pieces. Hope you have a better night tonight.
Jem hope you had a good day, did you have one of your trips? If you did hope you had a good day.
Night and bless all :-) <3

Hello All
Been feeling tired today and its all because of the smoke alarm going off so unexpectedly for no apparent reason at 1.10am and scaring the life out of us both! Hubby fell fast asleep immediately his head hit the pillow and I couldn't settle at all as I was waiting for the smoke alarm to go off yet again. Just so relieved that it didn't. I dusted it as best as I could without climbing on any steps..... perish the thought of me falling. I think it may be around 10 years old and could be time to get an electrician in to fix up a replacement one.
Cooler here too today which is fine by us. I noticed that there was dew on the grass first thing this morning..... very Autumnal and we are still in August (just).
Pat, I can imagine your daughter having varying reactions from folk when she tells them of a typical working day in her life ha ha. Well done to her for encouraging youngsters to step out and follow whatever career path they are interested in.
Jem, hope you are OK? Perhaps you are resting while the family have been away.
Enjoy tomorrow everyone, whatever you are planning to do.
Enjoy your natter with your elderly friend tomorrow...... what do you call "elderly?"

Kandj she's almost 80. She's not old and still very able. Just slow walking especially in the heat. I couldn't call her young but definitely not old. She came out here on her own almost 10 years ago.
She has a fantastic life here. She lived near Romford Essex and only if someone came for her and took her back home did she go out at night. Here I've known her leave here after midnight on her own. We've offer to escort her to her bungalow but she declines. As she says if she meets a group of young men whilst going home the worst that will happen to her is they'll talk to her in Greek. :-D
She has a large group of friends. Another couple take her shopping but she knows she only has to pick up the phone and we'll take her. I take her to the doctor's once every 2 months as we both need repeat prescriptions. She goes to Mahjongg twice a week.
She's coming with us tonight for a Chinese meal. We sometimes go to quizzes in winter, she is part of our team. She goes out for a meal at least once a week. Hops on the bus and goes to Limassol when she feels like it.
Her eldest son now lives in Limassol, running a business, so she does have family backup but as he works 6 days a week so she doesn't see him much in the week.
One of her grandsons had a holiday at her place with his father - youngest son. So taken with the place was he he found himself a job at a garage here - he's a qualified mechanic. He's met an English girl out here, her parents retired out here. They are getting married next year. They have a small daughter. Grandson does odd jobs for our friend but he's busy. Works 6 days and likes to spend Sundays with his family. Does include her if there's birthdays etc or he's having a BBQ. She always goes to him Christmas day. Her great grand daughter goes to the nursery near her so if the girl's mum is on late shift at her job our friend collects gt grand daughter until grandson can pick her up. That's when she gets her jobs done. :-D
Friend has 2 small dogs and walks them (short walks) twice a day so has got to know everyone in the area. When she walks anywhere without the dogs lots stop to ask if she needs a lift (both local and British).
There is a small supermarket in walking distance for emergencies but it is more expensive and has limited stock. She needs help with the heavier things like the dog food.
She loves the winter here as it's warmer than UK and she feels so much safer here.
Do you think the description of elderly fits Kandj? <3

Hello All
Your friend is definitely not old Pat, she is almost 80 years YOUNG... I just would like to have half her lifestyle and I would be a happy bunny (mid 70's me!).
Sunny day but quite cool today and another dew on the grass and Autumnal feel with the nights really drawing in. Curtains closed before 8pm last night as it was dark?? Rain is forecast for the next two days, so we will wait and see if it's correct.
Thankfully no smoke alarm panics since early hours of Sunday morning. I am beginning to relax again now. Not good experience to be woken with SCREECHING
It is my younger Sister's 61st birthday today. Last year her two daughters took Mum to London and did the touristy sights, Buckingham Palace, changing of the guards, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Harrods and then a River Thames tour and afternoon tea at The Ritz and on to champagne on the London Eye with a "Happy Birthday" song from others around She had never been to London before and so was delighted with this surprise treat and time spent with her girls. Another quick year passed by for her...... she is catching me up, but a way to go yet ha ha.
Hope Jem is ok and it's not raining in SW Wales today if she is off exploring again.

Good Morning Roll Callers :-) :-) <3
Sorry I haven’t posted, I’ve been a little under the weather and very tired. We have a rather difficult family problem that we are dealing with at the moment.
I am going for an Ultrasound Scan tomorrow afternoon to see if I have Gall Bladder problems on top of everything else!! Just shoot me!!!:-D :-D
Well, thank you (bows in gratitude) for your nominations for Sports Reporter of the Year!!!! ;-) ;-) (I think Jonathan Davies’ job is quite safe however!):-D :-D :-D
I, in return, have nominated you both for Cheer Leaders Extraordinaire!!!;-) :-D :-D :-D
What are we going to do when matches coincide? :-S :-S :-S I have had a brilliant idea!:-D :-D :-D
Have either of you seen a Football Programme on Sky Sports News (channel 401) on a Saturday afternoon called GILLETTE SOCCER SATURDAY? Now I don’t really follow soccer, but I love this format! I find it hysterically funny :-D
Jeff Sterling is the anchor man, and other former soccer players are in the studio (Charlie Nicholas, Matt LeTissier, Paul Merson, Phil Thompson and others) and they are all watching different matches on their monitors. They go back and fore between each other, and pitchside commentators, excitedly talking about each of their matches as the action is happening! :-D :-D :-D
That might be an idea!;-) ;-) ;-)
:-) PAT What an absolutely beautiful girl your daughter is! So pretty and petite and with brains! Your OH looks so proud of her!:-)
It’s great that each of your children have been able to follow their dreams in connection to their careers. Having the confidence to do this comes from the love and support that you and OH have given them. Helping them to see that nothing is beyond their reach if they work hard and believe in themselves.:-)
Pat, your friend sounds amazing! What a character! :-) She reminds me of my Great Aunt who we lost in 2004 at nearly 97 years old. She was wonderful, with a fantastic sense of humour.
My Sis-In-Law didn’t know where to look, when she took her to see the doctor and my G.Aunt told the Doctor... “I speak 3 languages Doctor- English, Welsh and BAD!” :-0 :-D :-D
:-) KANDJ How awful that you had such a fright with the fire alarm going off in the night!:-( I can quite understand how it worried and unsettled you, especially given that your OH is not well. I too would have found it very difficult to go back to sleep. :-(
Yours is the 2nd incident of this I have read about on GR this week. I’m wondering if it has something to do with the weather. Maybe electricity in the air- there have been quite a lot of thunderstorms lately. :-S :-S Oh, this humid weather is awful and tiring. When I’m doing the cleaning I feel like I have to go to the shower!
I hope you both get a decent night’s sleep soon :-)
Have a good day both of you. :-) :-)

Afternoon all,
Well friend spent a couple of hours here before she went back to her dogs. She's a bit upset about her old dog, she's 16. Friend had her in England and brought her out here. Took her to the vets about an abscess on her leg, or so she thought. It's not an abscess, they think it's a tumour and she's too old to be operated on. Still the dog doesn't appear to be ill and it could be benign. Have to keep fingers crossed. Her other dog is about 7, an abandoned dog from a village up Troodos, the mountain range, an area in the centre of the island.
She wants us to go out on the 14th - she's sort of Jewish. By sort of, she celebrates things but doesn't believe. She wants to celebrate the Jewish New Year. We told her we want to go out with everyone on Monday as it's our 10th Anniversary of coming out here. Well that's the next 2 Mondays sorted. :-D
By the way she walked to the hairdresser's but got a lift to us as someone she vaguely knows pulled up and offered her a lift. He lives just round the corner from us so he didn't have to go out of his way.
Kandj did you tell Jem about reporter of the year 'cause she knows about it? :-0 It was to be a surprise.
By the way I hope you had a better night last night.
Cheerleaders extraordinaire what does that mean, are we good or disastrous Kandj? I don't know whether we've been insulted or not. ;-)
Jem sorry your not too good and also have problems not a good combination. Maybe connected? I had an organ scan as part of a check up and found to have gallstones but I haven't had any problems so it's been left. Asked a medical friend and she told me most people over 40 have gallstones, it's only if they move you have a problem. I know the pain with gallstones is terrible. A friend thought her husband was having a heart attack in the middle of the night - he's OK after keyhole surgery for removal of gall bladder. He came out here last summer just 7 weeks after having it out and spent summer here - he said it was to recuperate. ;-)
Thought I'd better show you this to balance up the family - don't worry it's not the whole album. :-D
This is son with OH and myself pre low carb diet. This is the best picture of OH.
Note the red mark on my neck, it was taken just 6 weeks after the removal of my thyroid.
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/18091537
This is a more recent photo of me with OH and Dean a singer who's a great Frankie Valli tribute act. He's now back in UK doing the act. We became friends after we met him a very nervous novice dropped up the club to do his act. A guy who sings in a double act - Blues Brothers, told him to find us out and talk to us and he'd be ok. I'm not saying we were regulars for the entertainment nights (we only missed 1) or that all the entertainers know us but we do try to make them feel welcome. :-D
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/18091569
Last 1, I promise, the view from our (small) balcony outside our bedroom.
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/14459303
That's it folks until I get a photo of the hibiscus in bloom. There are buds on the hedge so shouldn't be long.
Have a good day all and a peaceful night. :-) <3

Hello All Roll Call
Rain and cool again today. Might have to turn the central heating on..... we shall see.
Our niece has asked me to knit a baby shawl for her the same as the one that I knitted for her sister four years ago. That's fine by me. Baby not due until February so plenty of time to knit the fine 3ply wool shawl which took months when I did the first one. BUT first I have to put on my thinking cap and remember where I have put the knitting pattern four years ago??? Obviously hidden away in some safe place..... but where??
Pat, I didn't tell Jem about the Sports Award honest. I would never tell a secret. I thought that you must have told Jem but if not, then we must have others looking in! I'm sure that being classed as Cheer Leaders Extraordinaire is an honour because Jem seems a very nice lady but I will certainly have to keep on practicing to be worthy of such a grand honour (no pressure there then Jem!). Pat can you please remind me what comes first, the twirls or the pom pom shakes??? Senior moment already ha ha. Am I alright to borrow your pom poms again on Saturday please?
Your son looks like our son in law...... a typical Chef and what we in Yorkshire would call a Strapping Lad. Sorry I'm unable to open the next photo of you all after the low carb foods, so he might look very different in this picture. You have a wonderful view from the balcony. It must be good to see the changes.
Jem..... who told you about the surprise Sports Award? Please tell Pat that I didn't betray her confidence. I'm not sure if I should be practicing my vocal chord or my twistings for the Saturday Welsh rugby game..... decisions, decisions!!
Sorry that you are having ongoing worries Jem. I hope things will calm down before very long. Good luck at the hospital today. Fingers crossed that it will turn out good. We wouldn't dream of shooting you, you're needed for Radio Jem!
Enjoy today everyone, whatever you have in mind.

Well Kandj if it wasn't you or me how did Jem find out? Mystery deepens!!!!!!!!!!!
Kandj, son is so like my father, even his shape. He has a big chest and short legs, must be the Welsh miners ancestors. I don't know what shape he is know as we haven't seen him for a year. His weight is like what mine used to be - all over the place. Daughter on the other hand is built like her father. I've known him 45 years and he's put an inch on his waist in all that time. :-S If you came across a very skinny chef would you eat his food? ;-)
Hope Jem has had good news at the hospital. Having a scan isn't intrusive so shouldn't be too bad. Hope you'll let us know Jem when your back.
The pompoms are waiting for you Kandj, you shake your pompoms as you do the left right, left right bit then you twirl. Ok :-D.
Have spent most of the afternoon on my tree, time just disappears.
That's an orange grove and it's evergreen trees in the photo. There are a few pomegranate trees there also. There may be a fig tree (it's on the boundary) there as well. The orange trees dress themselves up for Christmas. Orange baubles everywhere. :-D
You can also see our castle (it's really a keep). It's to do with the crusades and Knights of St John. Some people try to say Richard Lionheart was there. There is a problem with that, it was built after he'd died. :-S
That's the Mediterranean Sea in the background.
Hope you all have a peaceful evening and night. Hope you're ok Jem.

Good Afternoon Roll Callers:-) :-) <3 It was a whether weather day here this morning, so I didn't do the washing.... and then it cleared up! :-| :-| :-D
Thankyou both for your concern re my Ultrasound scan. I had it yesterday afternoon. I think it was ok. They said there were no Gall Stones. I suppose if there is anything else, they will send a report to the doctor.
The family are back home, having had a great time. The cats are ok having been left on their own for the first time. There's two of them and they enjoy playing together- they are still kittens really.
Do not worry about "THE LEAK" ;-) ;-) :-D It was neither of you that blew the secret about my nomination for Sports Reporter of the Year!
It was actually an Undercover Free-Lance Reporter who unearthed the information, and then sold it on to a seedy tabloid newspaper. There, it was elaborated upon, together with some scandalous secrets from my past! :-0 :-0 :-0;-) ;-)
So now I doubt very much that I will win the competition, but thanks for the nomination anyway ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D
But you may still get the award for the best cheerleaders, as you are cheerleaders of the highest calibre! Your dance moves put not only Legs & Co to shame, but also Pans People! :-0 :-0 :-D :-D :-D
Kandj- you listen to Pat and you will not go far wrong in your cheerleading routine! It's just as well that Pat is the Head Cheerleader, as you would learn nothing from me, as I have 2 left feet AND a gammy hip! ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D
The England World Cup Squad was announced this afternoon and was reported on, on Radio Jem ;-) as was the Wales Team to face Ireland. That was announced this morning.
:-)PAT, Thanks for sharing your family photos with us. It's nice for us to be able to visualise who we am talking to! :-) I will find some of my lot to share with you both when I get a chance :-)
I'm sorry about your friends old dog! Hopefully it is a benign lump and the dog will have a few more happy years. :-)
:-)KANDJ, Have you found the knitting pattern for the shawl yet? It was a nice compliment to you, that your niece wants you to knit another shawl the same, for her new baby :-)
I hope you and OH have been able to get some sleep :-)

Hello All on Roll Call
A dry and pleasant day today, a little cooler but that suits us both. We are beginning to relax after the scary episode with the Smoke Alarm last Sunday morning. It hasn't happened again thank goodness.
The TV is playing up and as hubby is housebound he loves this form of entertainment. We have a man coming out tomorrow morning to check it out and as its less than three years old we are hoping the problem is nothing too serious or expensive either.
Jem, thanks for clearing the leaked information up. Will you sell your story to a Sunday tabloid for a 4 figure sum??
I have found the knitting pattern for C's new baby shawl. It was gathering dust after four years and I have the fine 3 ply baby wool to begin knitting the baby shawl. This will be in white. I also hope to knit baby matinee coats and jackets but C and hubby will find out at the second scan if this baby is girl or boy..... so I could be knitting in pink or blue later on after the shawl has been completed.
I hope that your scan result will be normal Jem and nothing to cause you more concern. Did your family all enjoy their time away and did you manage to rest then?
Pat, thankyou for the 3 photo's. All very interesting. I won't be adding any photos as I don't have any and am a bit useless with adding to my folders or Avatar don't know how to do it.
I will be practicing being 2nd cheer leader for Saturday's rugby game and will try not to be late for this next match. I will remind you tomorrow to pass the pom poms across to me. Hope you have got them handy and not "lost them" in a safe place?!
Have a restful night sleep all who are reading this.

Hello All
The man came as arranged and thankfully our TV set is sorted and working perfectly once again. Something to do with the signal being weak now but a few buttons pressed quickly and all was done really quickly and not too expensive either, a bonus.
I planted some new ground cover plants on Monday and have been watering them to get established. My aim is to have more ground cover plants and lessen the weeding BUT, yesterday I was shocked to see all plants leaves have been eaten and only stalks remaining..... as we have no squirrels and no rabbits around I am wondering who has been feasting on the new plants??
Pat, I hope all is good in Cyprus and that your husband's back pain is easing. Are you out and about again or saving yourself for Monday's meal out? Will you remember to get the 2nd set of pom poms out for me to borrow tomorrow please. I might be a little late but would you save me a seat near you please?
Jem, I hope you are feeling better after the scan and that the results will be OK. Are the family home safely now after their few days away. Hope they enjoyed it all. Lots of sports activities happening tomorrow but I promise to be with Radio Jem and Pat Number 1 cheerleader as soon as I can..... in the meantime I am practicing my vocals and the shakes and twirls.... .... left right left right twirl. left right left right twirl ....anyone who is reading this, just feel free to join in if you wish. All are welcomed the more the merrier.

Hello All on Roll Call
Not a lot happening here today but not grumbling. We have had a relaxing day. Lots of little jobs that I could have got on with but not had a lot of energy to be honest.
Pat, thanks for the loan of the pom poms. I hope I haven't lost too much glitter with all the shakes though. I was happy to have taken your advice to practice this week as I managed this weeks game without feeling exhausted like last time.
Jem, thanks for your ongoing commentary on rugby today. A lot of other games going on too, I nearly got all mixed up, it doesn't take much to confuse me ha ha.
It will be an early night for us soon, so goodnight, sleep well all who are looking in.

Good Evening Roll Callers :-) :-) <3
It's not been a bad day today, weather wise. A bit undecided with clouds and then sunshine etc.
OH and I went for a walk along a section of the Coastal Path this afternoon. It was very pleasant. We used to do a lot of walking as a family a few years ago, but we haven't done any for ages now, especially since Grandson 1 got himself his own social life :-( :-( :-D
I thoroughly enjoyed the rugby on Saturday. It is so much fun since you both have joined in! Along with Fly and sometimes The Smiley Gang, it's good to have some fun and banter with the thread! Your Cheerleading routine is something to be amazed at! ;-) :-D :-D <3
You will both be pleased to know that RADIO JEM is being brought to the attention of the Wales Team :-D :-D :-D :-D
I sent them a message via WalesOnline (an online Wales Newspaper) saying "Jem and Rugby Fans on Radio Jem (Genes Reunited's Welsh Rugby & World Cup Thread) wish you every success ... Go Wales .... Go The Halfpenny... We love you all! Jemima" :-0 :-0 :-0
WalesOnline have my email addy. I wonder if I shall hear from them?! :-D :-D :-D
The family had a great time on their holiday. They spent 2 days in Longleat, and daughter said that they could have spent a 3rd day there as there was still things they hadn't done there.
Grandson 2 said his fist words there (apart from family names) choo choo train! :-D He loved the train they went on there.:-D
:-)KANDJ I'm glad the weather has been more bearable for you and OH, and I'm glad you are getting over the fire alarm incident.
It's good that the TV has been fixed, especially as your OH is housebound, it's his connection to the outside world! You will be busy with your knitting now you have found your lost shawl pattern! I haven't knitted in years, although I did think I'd start again a while ago. That was just before I discovered the GR Boards :-D :-D :-D
The last thing I knitted was a jumper each for Grandson 1 and Granddaughter 1 when they were toddlers. I was very pleased with them. They were Paddington Bear ones. His was blue and hers was lilac.

HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO GET FROM THE CRICKET TO THE VARIOUS FOOTBALL SPORTING VENUES? :-0 :-0 :-0 :-D :-D :-D ;-)
I hope you have had some great evenings out and that OH's back is bearable. :-)
I hope you both will be building up your strength for Saturday coming! :-0 As we have England v Ireland at 2.30pm, Wales v Italy at 5pm and France v Scotland at 8pm, but that will be on BT Sports only I expect- will have to check.
I will need a drink at the end of it all! :-0 :-D :-D
Hope you are both ok :-)<3

Evening all :-)
Will add more tomorrow but kitten is causing problems with computer, thinks me hitting the keyboard is fun so keeps joining in or batting the letters as they go up. It's a laptop so to hit screen he stands/sits on keyboard. I keep getting the calculator up :-S
Will close and hope he doesn't leap as I submit this to the thread. He's back :-S :-) <3

Hello All
It's been raining non stop here all day today and the forecast is the same for the next couple of days. It is a shame that Bank Holiday events have been spoiled this way Our village Gala had organized several outside activities and things for children's amusement but I doubt that many families would be around with so much rain here.
Yes the TV is all sorted.... quickly and easily too by the man who installed it. Hubby is a happy chappy once again and the remote control is keeping him amused.
Jem, all ready for the Saturday rugby game and others as we have BT Sports. What a lot of games all on one day...... I hope the TV doesn't blow up!! I wonder if you will get a reply to your message of good wishes to the Welsh team Your grand children's knitted jumpers reminded me of one I knitted with Thomas the Tank Engine.... a bit complicated at the time if I can remember correctly. The baby shawl is a shell pattern and easy enough but knitted in 3ply wool so it isnt growing very much at the present. Still plenty of time yet, baby not due until Feb. Jem I hope you have got rid of your worries and can relax a little more now.
Pat, I hope you have the pom poms in a safe place until Saturday. It was a fun time the last game, and I am still practicing left right twirl, and getting fitter by the day ha ha. I hope I haven't lost too many strands from the pom pom shakings though. Was it today that you were joining your friend for a meal to celebrate Jewish New Year? or was it a celebration meal for the 10 years you have been in Cyprus? How is your friends dog.... the lady does well to walk with them twice a day.
Goodnight to all looking in. Sleep well.

Hello All
A bright dry sunny start to today. Now why couldn't that have been the same yesterday for all the Bank Holiday events instead of non stop rain all day long. I heard that the village Gala was poorly attended which was hardly surprising given the awful wet rainy day yesterday. Such a shame when it takes so much organizing.
I need to re-pot some newly planted Campunalas that have been eaten by "something" in the front border. No idea what, as we have no rabbits and no squirrels nearby but all the healthy leaves have been eaten and only bare stalks are left now. My aim is to add low growing plants to lessen the weeding I have to do.
I hope Pat and Jem are all well today and send out good wishes to all who look in at Dizzi's Roll Call now. It was interesting to read that a decent amount of money was handed to PD Society in lovely Dizzi's memory.... that would have really pleased her.
