I would believe anything could of happened to the plane and the passagers I just pray they are still alive and whatever is happening they come out of all this alive. If someone told us 20 yrs ago about 9/11 we would of passed them off as cranks so no nothing would suprise me however it isnt that grand a plan on the whole because the whole world knows that plane is missing surely it would of been easier to bulid one!

This thread (which asks for any armchair compiracy theories) has been absolutely fascinating. It is still a huge mystery.

The captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah is under suspicion They are examining a flight simulator he owned . It also said when the last words spoken by him saying Good night he was calm no other noise. By this time the key signalling system was manually disabled

They are investigating the theory the jet flew under the radar to a Taliban-controlled area

It took an investigator to realise that the pilots had knowledge of plane computer systems?

No doubt there will be hypotheses aplenty as the armchair compiracy theorists get their inexpert heads together.

This morning : "Satellite data suggests the Boeing 777, which had 239 people on board, flew for at least seven hours - more than six hours after it lost contact with air traffic control.

It has been claimed it could have landed at one of more than 600 runways spread across at least a dozen countries."

The two pilots and one passenger had knowledge of plane computer systems, as far as investigators are aware.

Whilst it is a serious issue - I did wonder if someone was trying to recreate 'Lost'.

But I could be wrong as I never found out the end of that one either.

It is like a James Bond film, isn't it. If it was a planned attack on Kuala Lumpur, it seems to have failed. But I do hope someone has some idea where this plane and all its passengers actually are at the moment.

They may simply be at bottom of sea. But so many strange things, like no signal from black box which would have gone off on impact with land or sea.

If that plain has landed and takes off again it will not have long before it's picked up and intercepted

I think that in the light of new info at least on country knows more than they are saying, Who knows they may have even had a ransom demand.

He may have been a bit insensitive, but "humour" is also the way people cope in such situations.

One theory is that plane is in the Philippines and is being prepared for some type of 9/11 attack. What western cities are within attack range from that area? USA would be main target surely.

Edit. Noticed there is an International Airport on Christmas Island, which is half way between Far East and USA. And loads of islands in that area where there might be abandoned airstrips.

John Lindsay, former head of air safety at British Airways, told Sky News: "It would be a possibility and perhaps a probability that the aircraft is on the ground transmitting those signals (signals have been picked up).

"If this has been a very carefully orchestrated, pre-planned event then the aircraft and its passengers are the asset of the people who perpetrated this activity.

"It would be bizarre to destroy your asset by running out of fuel and crashing it anonymously into one of the oceans or a land mass without declaring what the point of the exercise is.

"The auxiliary power unit would have enough fuel to keep running for days and keep the plane powered up for some considerably longer period."
