Fly - I think they were going to do this at Great Yarmouth and maybe on the north coast, as the tides are expected to be high. I will watch the local news later, to see what is happening. I live well inland in West Norfolk, well away from the coast. The last great floods in Norfolk were in 1953, and many lives were lost. |

My OH has just told me that they are closing the Thames Barrier due to the high tides and high winds. |

Fly - there are a lot of flood defences in place now, particularly around the fens and marshland areas. There have only been warnings of possible evacuations. There have been warnings in recent years, but I don't think there actually have been any, they are just playing safe |
