jax Report 15 Jul 2013 23:39

No of course you didn't come across as trying to belittle me....I do not claim to know everything about computers, so if you want to put me right...so be it...no probs :-D

I remember when myself and OH used to play online poker...we were not able to play on the same table...obviously something was picked up to show we were at the same address....that may have been our home address from the debit cards we used? but that wouldn't stop someone else coming to our house and logging into one of our computers, would it?

eRRolSheep Report 15 Jul 2013 22:56

jax you're right in that when someone logs in there is an IP address - basically four sets of numbers with full stops in between. However, those numbers are not particularly useful. They can change every time a person logs in, or they could relate to a public computer etc etc. or in this day of access via mobile means they merely identify the access point and not the user
They don't actually identify the person unfofrtunately
(PS really wasn't trying to belittle you - sorry if it came across as such)

jax Report 15 Jul 2013 22:47

Probably Errol :-D not very computer literate...all I remember was when anyone logged in up came some letters followed by some numbers....so if they had been banned we could tell but this was 4 years ago, things may have changed since then

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 15 Jul 2013 22:09

I am assuming you mean IP and not ISP of course

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 15 Jul 2013 22:05

But surely that depends on whether it is a static or dynamic IP address jax

AnnC I cannot tell

jax

jax Report 15 Jul 2013 21:40

Even if it is a non paying account doing the rr'ing....surely GR can see the ISP number...I know I could when I was a moderator of a chat site

Just testing ....."

So although I didn't follow it through the report option is certainly there for registered non-paying members.
