Yes, I'm having a rethink regards coats etc. Think I will get a really good waterproof and a warm down coat for next winter (although some of them are way too bulky, or too long) - very hard to get a coat just the right length :-D

Thankies Ann.
Washing is still out there
Still bright and sunny but it's much windier than I thought.
All the bath sheets keep curling round the line and a dress on a hanger is doing is own wee twirly dance

Sheila, trouble is you need a long wet weather coat for walking around and a shorter one for the car. Takes so long to get ready these days it is almost time to come home before we go out!!! :-D

Lol GoldenGirl and Ann, I get swamped by 'big coats' so can't do the long ones. It's been raining all day here, even the dog doesn't want to go out in it!

Gwyn in Kent Report 13 Apr 2013 16:29

I saw the smallest patch of blue sky earlier, when we were on our way to Canterbury, but now it is overcast with fine drizzle ...Not too cold though.
Lots of lambs in the fields.

Gwyn.

'Emma' Report 13 Apr 2013 16:35

The only lambs I've seen this year so far are the ones
on TV.
It's lovely to see them in the fields. :-)

Very windy but warm, a lot of clouds scudding over but some sun as well, and I got the washing dry outside this morning.

GlasgowLass

GlasgowLass Report 15 Apr 2013 15:05

It's been soooo windy here that I'm quite scared.
Jan 2012 winds caused almost £5000 worth of damage to our garden
Our back garden is enclosed by sections of brick wall and equal sized sections of timber fencing
2 and a bit sections ( 6ft x6ft) of brick wall which encloses the garden, together with 4 sections of fence panels, simply blew over and fell onto the road behind the house
Strangely my neighbour next door had no damageat all.
Strange because his was already keeling over!
He had raised the level of his garden by placing breeze blocks behind his wall and the pressure is pushing it outwards
Since we had ours repaired and rebuilt straight, it simply highlighted just how much that his has moved .
That was over a year ago.....
Today, the council who own the road at the back, have sealed his garden off from the rear ( road included) and served notice on him to fix it!
The thing is.....It wasn't too noticeable BEFORE ours was repaired
Our repair bill was in excess of £4800 for the 3 ( 2 plus a bit) sections of brick wall.
He has 7 full sections of brick wall to demolish and rebuild and will not be covered by insurance..... WHOOPS!
