Thanks Jude, I liked reading the Welsh thread but don't have the time most nights.

I am glad the op is over for Jean and hope she will rally soon and adjust to the difference in her life as best she can.

I have been thinking about her, and hope she gets the best of attention, glad you could go and see her and help her with the itch relief.

Just copied and pasted this from Welsh thread!!

Just had a phone call from Vic, he's at the hospital still. Two of the things that jean has always had a problem with is getting introvenous (sp) drips into her veins and laying flat.
Yesterday when we were there they had that prob re veins and that prob is going on now!! Staff have been with them most of the visit and a Dr has given her 3 choices,one was to put drip in neck which then leaked, the next was to try the side of neck the last is to go back into theatre not for an op but because it is the cleanest place and have a drip that will have a long tube that lays on her chest...(.apologies if l get this wrong, doing my best to tell you what vic said, he was quite upset ), and because jean can't lay flat for long he will do it in stages.
Jean is much better than yesterday but now very upset because of all this.
Vic says the staff have been amazing, the Dr arranged for a meal for Phil, he has to eat at certain times because of being diabetic.
He says he's done this op on people older than jean and with more things wrong with them!!!!! and its worked well.

Phils sugar level is high now because yesterday mornings visit to hospital was to have injections in his knee's (ouch).....AND AT LAST HE IS PAIN FREE.

So they are waiting for the Dr to come back they will give him jeans decision, l don't know what that is though.
Fingers tightly crossed for jean and positive thoughts again !!!! %26lt%3B3 %26lt%3B3

Although jean was confused and tired yesterday, everything seemed so good.....poor Jean

Thanks Jude, I am sorry poor Jean is having to go through so much extra hassle, and hope things will be right soon. It's good that the hospital are looking after Phil as well and if Jean realises that it will help put her mind at ease. Maybe once the drip is in properly she will start to feel a little stronger and less confused, bless her.

C&P'd from yesterday Welsh thread.

Saw Jean this afternoon, she was abit disorientated and very tired, has had 2 pints of blood and something else today, this is why she was tired. She knew we were there alright.....lol....she said "everytime one of you go out to speak to someone, they're is a pong"....we think it was the laundry type trolley outside the door...LOL
She knew if we were talking to one another, she knows everything that woman...lol....when the visitors were leaving,lots of fast footsteps, she said "the nurses are busy", bet that was her remembering being a nurse and rushing to see to someone??
l did me usual back scratching, and put cream on her sore nose to try and stop her pulling the oxygen thingie out!!!

Staff say although she's having a rough time, she's also on the right road:))

That's positive news Jude, thanks, you are being a star!

It's a good sign when someone's interested in their surroundings and I am sure Jean will find the strength to keep on that right road and get to home at the end.

Hello Liz and Liz......

well there have been a few ups and downs for Jean, she's just about over another infection, this time in her wounds from the op!! One leg is fine the other still abit to go. Still has a chest infection and pain in her chest, still not able to feed, yet they leave her to feed herself!! Very lonely, she loves to chat, but has Thrush in her mouth so finds it difficult, this of course makes it difficult to understand her.
She has been out in the arm chair quite a few times now.
She had infection behind her ear from her glasses, which took 3 days for me to get someone to actually look at it, it was'nt a nice sight!!

Will contact her OH tomorrow to find out how she is today.:))
