lol sniggering at Mersey's comment, because it reminded me that I pulled on one of those brevia type bra's the wrong way round when I was in a hurry and couldn't figure out why it wasn't covering like usual ;-)

So did my neighbour on his recent visit to Oz ( wear thongs ), found them very comfortable :-)

Tanned his feet a nice golden brown :-D

I think George means he sees frocks from a y-front perspective.

The new owners may decide it's more trouble than it's worth, I suppose. However, nothing I've seen on here lately comes close to stuff that was posted in the past. And GR survived that.

Maybe we should all remember that people are entitled to hold opinions no matter how stupid those opinions are. ;-)

I read most threads, add to some. Some make me laugh, some make me grimace, but everyone is entitled to an opinion, we don't have to agree with them.

The MAJORITY of posters seem to be nice, friendly & helpful. Those who post "nasty" comments ~ I don't bother with them, same as I would out in "the real world".

In any discussion it is valid to criticise the opinions, it becomes nasty when you criticise the poster.
That does seem to happen quite frequently.
It should not be 'You are a very rude person' but 'that was a very rude comment'.
It is just like bringing up children, criticise the action not the person.
(Anyone can rr)

If people are being deliberately rude, patchem, then I think it's OK to tell them they are. I do in real life, so why not here?

Mercifully they are rare, but to allow them to continue with unacceptable behaviour unchallenged doesn't sit right.

Hi Rose, I think you have been here long enough to realise that we go through phases like this occasionally and come out the other side.

When a discussion thread starts it soon becomes obvious that people will disagree. There are many comments about nasty posts, dominance of threads etc, but if we read back over past discussion threads I am sure that we could see that sometimes those who shout about one person's dominance have themselves dominated threads in the past. Myself included, we don't realise we are doing it when we get carried away with enthusiasm, it is like when talking and can't wait to get our ideas into the conversation. The same with nasty. We are all guilty of making cutting and hurtful/spiteful comments.

Most of the time it flows well and it is only when tit for tat starts that things get out of hand.

We do need tolerance and it seems being indoors in the bad weather is not conducive to that.

I shouldn't like to see the board go Rose, so I hope GR don't take this thread as an excuse to cut it. :-)

It would be a great shame if this forum did come to an end as I think there are many posters who need the "company" and the support given when they have problems. But I do wonder how many people, like me, seldom post on contentious threads because they so often turn into a spat between personalities. I have no problems with differing opinions but posters should be attacking or defending the ideas being put forward not being nasty to each other. I feel very uncomfortable with some of the threads.

(PS I do think it a great shame that Sylvia felt the need to take a break)
