:-D BC. And Island. My accent is not as broad as Barb's post lol! I don't use the West Country speech as such, at least not that I am aware of. OH's father used to speak something like that Barb although Devon is different to Glos, and Glos is different to Forest :-D I have probably absorbed a mixture of all and some of Hampshire is similar too so I am a bit of a hybrid. As an example I use the long A in bath (Barth not bath). Working with the services though for 20 years I got used to hearing most accents. The hardest one to understand for me when I was hard of hearing before I had hearing aids, was a Glaswegian accent, difficult to lip read to help. The worst interview for a job I ever had was by a Glaswegian man with a beard. Couldn't hear him and couldn't read his mouth. |

Most of the filming in Towie from what I could see, was in Brentwood....In all the years I lived in that town....cannot say I have heard anyone speak like that, nor in any of the other Essex places I have lived and worked. |

I really don't mind any accent so long as its not overdone and becomes non understandable. |
