Don't like lamb, John, you can have it! I hope we get lambs in the field opposite this year, though they are usually taken outside the village at lambing time.
Looks like the farmer and his dog are now on the case!

Finders keepers, Geordie. Seen price of lamb?

Try to render them yourself and book a stall on Fakenham Market :-D :-D ;-)

Oh no! I can see that a number of sheep have escaped from the field opposite, and some of them are getting into peoples gardens! Hope the farmer rounds them up soon, they can be very destructive.

I never knew that Island :-)

I have snow brrrrrrr :-(

Island

Island Report 5 Feb 2013 10:40

Could be a Great Black Backed Gull, Emma. They tend to be solitary.

I shouldn't complain but the sun is shining right into my eyes at the moment :-(
I look forward to it being higher!

I can see sunshine from my window, with snow threatened for later. My little grandson is here today so we have been looking for birds through the window

him the Lone Ranger cause he was on his own :-D

Did see a colony of gulls yesterday in car park of a large shopping centre near Bridgend.

This morning I can see a wisp of snipe in the distance. May be a pack of grouse.

But not a wake yet :-D ;-)

I'm glad to see that you deleted your previous post John :-|

Just to clarify, I saw on the news this morning at 6am that there had been snow in parts of the north of England last night. I then saw on another thread that Julie in Derbyshire, Sue in Leeds and Joy in Middlesborough had mentioned they had woken up to snow this morning.

Being a comparitive newbie, I didn't realise that you could not read certain threads.

Sounds like apologies required for all 3 ladies - and everyone else who comments on snow thread in England :-( :-(

John, why crib of information off my post, just to bulk out your own, just to make a post on this thread for the sake of making a post. Nothing gets any the better with you, does it.
Sad, very sad.

Nice to wake up to Allan and Scozz discussing how warm and wet, or very warm and very dry, Australia is. Makes me feel as if I am in Australind or Bondi Beach for a minute or two. :-D :-D

Had some snow apparently in Pennines and elsewhere last night. Down here deep in South Wales Valleys, we had the loudest rain storm I can remember for some weeks about 11pm and masses of lightning. Seems normal this morning - back to 35F (or 35C)? Think they are same thing - one is Centigrade and think other is Celsius. ;-)

Allan

Allan Report 5 Feb 2013 07:05

Yes please, Scozz.

As WA occupies one third of the country, obviously our climatic conditions vary. Northern WA is tropical and wet at the momentt, but down in the South West it is hot and dry.

having said that, at least our nights have been a bit cooler over the last few days (?).

How's the banana consumption going, Scozz? :-D

An old school friend of mine lives in Queensland, I know several people who have fled the UK and gone to Australia or New Zealand

I'm about as far away from Allan as you can get in Oz. He's on the west coast, I'm on the east. I'm about 10km north of the most easterly point.

It's raining.

Again.

:-D

I'd like to send some of it to Allan :-)

Allan

Allan Report 4 Feb 2013 23:41

Vfm I'm originally from the UK but have been in Oz since 1982.

I live in a place called Australind which is about 160 kms (approx) south of Perth. it is avery nice area although at the moment we could do with some decent rain, although not as much as the Eastern States had recently.

Our nearest large town is Bunbury but back in the UK it would only be classified as a very small place.

We are quite close to Margaret River (100km) and the whole area is very scenic :-)

Scozz and Allan, the Antipodes is one place I have always wanted to visit, maybe if I win the premium bonds I will get there :-)
