It's hard not to let it colour your postings on here ( though heaven knows I try!) , just as it is difficult in real life to be pleasant to or ignore people who annoy / have annoyed you.

But then in real life you can cross the road, or avoid seeing them generally. Sometimes on here it is much more difficult because there is an inevitable crossover of friendships. Perhaps we could all try a bit harder to 'turn a blind eye' , for the sake of those who want this to be a pleasant place to chat? ( if I can manage it.....you can ? ;-) )

My personal list:

People who chat in the supermarket aisles.

People who say 'should of' ( lol I can't help it).

The weather woman Sian whatever her name is ( her voice drives me to the brink) I've never met her she's probably lovely.

That comedian whose name I don't recall who is relentlessly unfunny imo.

Jeremy Clarkson ( he wouldn't like me either lol so I feel we're 'quits').

That history chappie whose voice is so monotonous he manages to make even the most interesting topic boring.

Myself in the mornings! ( try avoiding her!)

Is the history bloke Simon Schama?

Rambling Report 23 Jan 2013 14:21

It may be, Muffy? there was a programme on a few nights ago, and I started to listen but had to turn off lol.

Muffyxx Report 23 Jan 2013 14:22

Rambling

Rambling Report 23 Jan 2013 14:23

Rambling Report 23 Jan 2013 14:30

lol Ann, I can cope with that.

Oh the other gripe is 'these ones'! Even the BBC presenters use that ...'these ones' 'those ones' aaarrgggh!

It's not just you Rose . I dislike it when the cashiers at the check out continue to have converstions with each other whilst they are serving. I have been known to ask them to stop as they can not possibly be concentrating.

The chatting in supermarket aisles, I know I am guilty of :-| , but it is nice to actually speak to someone face to face during the day.

:-)

Rambling Report 23 Jan 2013 14:47

Carol, it's not that I mind people chatting as such, it's only when they block the whole aisle with their trolleys sticking out sideways while they talk :-)

SuffolkVera Report 23 Jan 2013 15:06

Rose, I agree with just about everything you have put and would add

Less instead of fewer (I went to a very pernickety school)

Brian Cox - I know he is a brilliant man but I can't concentrate on what he is saying because I find him so irritating

Kirsty Wark - I always want to send her for lessons in dress sense (and I'd better go with her as I am sitting here in trousers, jumper and cardi that are totally unco-ordinated!)

Kay????

Kay???? Report 23 Jan 2013 15:14

Mrs Brown's Boys and, (totally unrelated) :-D people on Chat Forums who believe that their views are absolutely right and treat anyone else's point of view, no matter how crass, with rudeness and discourtesy.

Rose, you've made me laugh, thankyou :-D

I so agree with everything and everyone you mention. I commented on the incorrect use of 'should of' etc.a while ago, but apparently got short shrift (I didn't read the person's reply, because I knew it would be rude, but a friend on here did and confirmed it was just that lol.) I should have read it and then I would have known and could have responded, but I probably wouldn't have, because I don't really come on here to be snotty [only sometimes when I'm feeling ratty ;-)]

Edit - and then I usually get up in the middle of the night to delete
:-D

Kay...... maybe I'll grow to appreciate Brian Cox. I have to watch him more than enough as OH likes his programmes.

And next time m 15 year old granddaughter says "What ARE you wearing Nan?" I'll just tell her it's my wild child look.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 23 Jan 2013 15:30

Mrs Suffolk,,,,

a 15 year should be encouraging you to dress outlandish and anything goes,,,,,,,,,you keep on dressing wild ,it shows how youthful you are, even a Nan can boogie. ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D.

:-D.

BC,,,,,my lovley lady hope your staying warm.,,,,,,,, I agree......its not the opposing difference its the pounce vicious way its done ;-)

DazedConfused

DazedConfused Report 23 Jan 2013 15:39

Wow I would not know where to start so much annoys me these days......

Unfunny comedians (Alan Carr and Lee Evans to name but 2 of many)
Rude Shop Assistants(not too many but one is just enough to make me walk out of a shop without buying)
Rude Children (who think they merit respect without earning it)
Worse - Rude Adults (pensioners who think it is their god given right to push and shove)
Rude Adults with their equally obnoxious children (I put this as a seperate category to the other two as this is a joint hate)
Reality TV
Soaps
and OH's obsessive hatred of Tony Robinson on Time Team. He loves the show, hates Tony and makes constant remarks about him!!!
And my biggest hate is bad spelling, puntuation and the 'should ov' lazy way of talking. Me a pedant - Yes 100% :-D :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 23 Jan 2013 15:46

Suffolk Vera, that is a really pet hate of mine, people who say less and fewer in the wrong places and even worse newspapers where they use the wrong word and on the TV too.

BC sooo agree, with both points.
