after reading this thread and suspecting from the start that it was one of dutch medical miracle threads,did i really deserve the abuse i got at the start of the post?

and while im at it,you can not diagnose meningitis through bloods,and meningitis is
a very serious illness and its most likely you would spend wks not days in hos. :-P

oh and the children will not be allowed to the wedding incase they infect other guests. :-)

A bit unfair to continue this when you know Joyce is not at home and probably not on line. I got the impression it was supected meningitis but the children had been vaccinated (I am sure I saw that somewhere) so maybe it presented as a virus in the end.. A bit puzzled about the children being home and having to go to hospital every day for a drip but I wondered if that was antibiotics, however that is what Joyce will have been told by her Granddaughter. Hopefully when she is in the uk she will find out more about it. Until we know, I suggest we leave it and just wish the children well. It will be up to their doctor to advise whether or not they are infectious, he/she is the only person who knows what the children are suffering from.

Agree Suzanne ...And no idea how anyone got the impression it was SUSPECTED MENINGITIS , Dutch clearly stated she had spoken to the nurse and was TOLD it was meningitis

So in other words it could be that the nurse not Dutch got it wrong? Is that not at least a possibility? Has no doctor or nurse ever mis-diagnosed, and then back tracked to a less dangerous condition ? that's a rhetorical question.

There are plenty of threads where people on here ask for thoughts for medical conditions, their own or someone else's ...any one of them could be 'made up' for all we know, but NOT all of them are dissected to the nth degree.

Better to err on the side of 'giving the benefit of the doubt' and if someone then dies the truth was told sadly; and if someone then lives, then the truth was told and they made a good recovery after all, and that's great

Suzanne, as Ann points out a bit unfair and you said you would keep clear of Joyces threads in future so why not do that,and if you think it is one of her medical miracle threads which implies she is lying,why then post the children wont be allowed at the wedding incase of infecting others if that is what you think,I will suggest to Joyce that she deletes this thread when she arrives here tomorrow She asked for possitive thoughts which is what she got from most people,but there is always the few,such as you,,yes you did wish them well but every one of your post has a negative with a positive comment or visa versa,just let it be now till she deletes.and yes i DO know what a serious illness it is after loosing my g/daughter to it and is why i could only wish the best possible outcome for Joyces gg/children So please show abit of your nurses compassion and leave it alone

why dont we respect what people add, and beind the scenes make our own conclusion. Rather than giving children injections every day a canular can be left in and meds added via a drip, only a doctor can really argue a diagnosis not us .

Rose,,just for info,,,,,,,,,a Nurse isnt allowed to give a diagnosis over the phone.......... for the reasons youve said,,,,,,,,,got it wrong>>>>or given the wrong person information they have no right to,,,,,,an inquirey is met with-----Mrs or Mr or xyz is comfortable or only if true to a family member a little improvement today..
