I have never before drawn attention to spelling on this or any other site - however as you always appear to wish to be correct, I did, in this instance.

Eldrick Report 23 Mar 2012 08:05

Dont be disingenious. You know very well im talking about your allegation that you have fitst hand knowledge of abuses of the nhs by foreigners. If you are doing something about it, im sure you would have mentioned it by now.

No need for you or chris to get personal.

Suzanne Report 22 Mar 2012 23:58

Suzanne Report 22 Mar 2012 23:22

i bothered to mention it because you were mentioning it,please feel free to dispute it,but the fact of the matter is that you mentioned it before anyone else.you made the issue about complementary medicine and the cost to the .n.h.s not me. all i done was to advise you that as a member of staff to the .n.h.s i was told to seek private treatment for a work related injury at a cost of £30 pound a session.and to say im doing nothing about this.how do you know that? :-)

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 22 Mar 2012 23:06

Its you thats watching it happen and doing nothing about it. I dont have a problem, its not me thats whining about it then ignoring it!

You obviously dont feel strongly enough to make an issue out of it so why should anyone else care? And why even bother to mention it?

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 22 Mar 2012 22:58

oh come on ELDRICK
do you think they will put the managers salarys on the line,do me a favour.
you really need to get a grip with the real world.its happening and you cant deny it :-D

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 22 Mar 2012 22:42

So where is your overseas team? If things are so bad then surely your primary trust stakeholders group need to get a grip of it?

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 22 Mar 2012 22:34

dont need to google, see it every day. :-)

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 22 Mar 2012 22:31

And rightly so. Osteopaths shouldnt be part of the nhs, same as other quacks. Although they are probably at the more benign end of the scale.

Im afraid the 500 million for quack treatment is a fact. In 2009 they were still funding five homeopathic hospitals for gods sake!

Google and hansard are the two most useful sites in the world :-D

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 22 Mar 2012 22:26

sorry ELDRICK
but its not hearsay, its from the horses mouth.
7m is 7m to much, and the 500m for acupunture and homeopathy is a load of c--p.
when i hurt my back in working hrs,i was told to see a private osteopath on my day off. cost to me. £30quid an hr,for a work related injury. :-D

Both sums of money could buy some people their lives !!!!!!!!

What with cancer drugs being scantily available in some areas.

I agree Eldrick..the whole system needs reforming...top to bottom x

SueMaid Report 22 Mar 2012 22:05

Here in Australia I'm afraid we get bogged down by myths about what benefits our immigrants and asylum seekers get. I had an email from a family member the other day about what our Somalian refugees get from the government. This normally very intelligent man gave a list of the most outlandish goods and services these people get from the taxpayers of this country. $600 per person (including children) per week, free housing, free car (brand new) free appliances. I didn't get an answer when I told him what they do get. People need to get the facts right.

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 22 Mar 2012 22:02

Foreign healthcare bill was 7 million in 2009 .

The bill for homeopathy and acupuncture, etc was 500 million.

I know which is more important.

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 22 Mar 2012 21:58

If adults are abusing the system, then it is down to the individual hospitals as the rules are there to prevent it. There should be a dedicated overseas team in every hospital to apply the rules. So once again, its the nhs itself that is incapable of managing and radical reform is the only answer.

Having said that, i would prefer to hear of some specific verified cases rather than anecdotes and hearsay.

Before l go off....l had an email today from our local MP, sadly he's a Conservative, such a nice man and always takes the time to email me, even done so on the train home:)

Anyway...he said he thinks the NHS changes may not effect Wales, he will email again and confirm.l find this obviously good news for us, but not so for England.
