My name is Jean. I have been married to Philip for almost 56 yrs. We had one son who died 10yrs ago at the age of42. We have always had animals, presently two cats. I was an army nurse, then a civilian nurse, a shop assistant in various shops, a smallholder, and a few other jobs. I like knitting, crossstitch, reading is my biggest passion, get through three books a week usually. Retired from nursing at 52 from ill health and am now frailer than I like. Have met several GR members and am now great friends with Jude and Vic. They are so much younger , they keep me up to date. I post on the Wales thread and they are all lovely people, Sandie I have met, a pretty and lively person. |

I'm Val and live in North Hertfordshire, originally from Finchley, North London. I'm 62 and have two grown up children and one grandchild (who is 23). Divorced from children's father many years ago and have been with my OH for 34 years, although we have never married (once bitten etc.). Worked in Market Research for 28 years until I took early retirement four years ago. Now help OH with his business. Hobbies are reading, gardening and family history. Have only met one person from here when we had a 'mini' meet a couple of years ago. |

Mick, now I have seen your picture, what a handsome goat, by the way, I am trying to work out how we can keep one again in this pocket handkerchief of a garden! Now, if OH turned his turning shed into a goatshed, and we kept the fodder in the wood shed, and got a neighbour to take her for a walk on a lead .................. Then i could offer manure for the gardens in exchange for veg for her............ I wonder! |

Hi Jean - you can have a garden or you can have a goat - the two are mutually exclusive! lol |
