It's only cliquey if you let it be i think, me i will perfectly happily trample in with an opinion wherever it isn't sought :)) |

Chrissiex now I understand. However, if anyone just wants their friends to help then as you said earlier, why not just post on the Finding Ancestors board and invite your friends to do the lookups or put up a general help request for friends to send pm for information on a request for help. Not everyone likes fb and I can understand why. |

only if a persons level of comprehension is askew. My threads have never ever been cliquey......should I feel insulted that anyone could ever say such a hurtful thing? The casting of aspersions......the hurt felt by my little heart |

Susan with numbers it's not cliquey by intention more because everyone has been talking to each other for so long that a familiarity has evolved in a natural way. It's more perception than fact. |

I often wondered it people who was not very confident to just jump in and add to threads used the term cliquey .. :-D |

Judging by Chrissie's many threads and manner on the genealogy boards I would not have marked her down as being either muddled or shy ;-) and to be honest....perception of some of the threads would, in my opinion, have been rather intimidating for a newbie. but then that is just my perception......we all differ I suppose. |

I have never had a problem adding to the chat, especially if the subject gets 'my gander up' and that is probably the reason I don't join in with the banter. Its easy to blame others and say they are cliquey but I wonder if my reluctance to join in with the banter is me being me rather than others excluding me. |

I lurked for months before I posted. This was the first online forum I joined and contributed to. It "looked" cliquey then but I was welcomed when I finally did start posting but by then I'd worked out which people I thought I'd get along with. |
