Even though there were the other trying to find boards etc, those of us on chat or general who wanted help from chatty friends, used to put up a quest and a few of us, ad-libbing like mad, had a great time helping each other out.

I wish those times could still happen without this over strict regime coming down on us like a tonne of bricks. It used to be fun.....whatever happened?

it's like being at school, with a strict Headmaster,

Well I suppose there is method in their madness, but I would like to be able to ask for help from people I know and have a laugh with.

I remember seasoned researchers asking others if they would like to help with their tree and each person who did, let the person know.....then away they went ...hidden for hours, only popping up to add a find or ask a question.......or have a breather and call the persons decendant a floozie.....if the cap fitted that is. :-D

Absolutely agree, I'd much rather have a bit of banter whilst people were helping than sitting here like a naughty child waiting to be chastised for either being on the wrong board, daring to mention the same person twice or not supplying sufficient information.

I used to like doing Uggers tree .....Daffs... Hayley....Sueoooom a few others when they got stuck......I also threw up the odd....does anyone need any help stuff......sobs......even me News from the past is on Chat..... am sooooo confused

I suppose I could go on doing what I have always done and see how many RRs I can chalk up before being sent off to pasture.
