As your children are so little at the moment I would find some simple answer to their question and don't worry them. If it is still happening in a few years then I would pursue it further.
mmmmmm .....as for David's valid thoughts, there have been 'mediums' before Biblical times and I would have thought they wouldn't have had microphones in those day.............mediums don't need them......lol-jl

I saw my Mother in a mirror in a darkened bed room, a year after watching her die in the ICU

A few years later I awaoke one morning after a restless nights sleep with marks above my left ankle as though I'd been gripped tightly. They defy explanation.
As Mother was passing I gripped her left ankle.

Is there the vaugest of connections? Perhaps. Who knows?

Ginny

that's almost exactly what OH said "I have never seen you look like that before"

and at that point we had been married 5 years but had known each other for 13 or 14 years.

but how nice to think that he was coming to say thank you.

I certainly got the impression that "my lady" had come to see the new owners, and that she "approved" of us.

Sylvia

I can totally understand your husband

I went to visit a family war grave in Anzio about 4 years ago. No one from our family had visited his grave as they were too poor to do so at the time

We gave our respects and then went on to have our holiday

On the last night I couldn’t sleep at all...then at about 5am in the morning I needed the loo and thought...I'll wait, I'm getting up soon...lazy girl!

So...tossing and turning in bed, being lazy...I turned to my left side and there he was....

A very small man in a military cap with a red band around it, long coat

....he had NO expression on his face at all, not smiling, not frowning, nothing

I was so scared I turned away but then looked back....he was still there, just the same

I shook my husband and whispered..of course when he looked there was nothing there

BUT...he being a sceptic, surprised me when he said ' maybe it was your family member coming to say 'Thank you'

You definitely saw something I have never seen you look so 'scared'

I have no means of explaining what happened to me

all I know is that I could describe a woman from head to toes

I had never seen her before

she was not a person from my past

But that she had been a live woman was confirmed months later

I also know that my husband, who is half-Welsh as well as being a scientist through and through, demanding proof and reproducability of everything, used to pooh pooh such things, UNTIL that evening.

Even he says that something happened, even if he himself did not see the lady.

Equally, my mother used to see things, that could be explained by some as shadows, wisps of light etc etc ........................ but things would happen later as she said they would

I find it both comforting and irritating that spirit comes to me...I also find it scary sometimes

I also know that some people will think I am either nuts or telling fibs

There are some interesting stories here and some that I heard on Margot's thread a while back....if they are lying all I can say is they must have good memories

Im not suggesting anyone has called anyone liars!

I could see something in what you say ......... it makes some sort of sense!

If I nudge OH, 9 times out of 10, he's say out loud "Huh, Huh, what did I do, what do you want?"

all I want is usually for him to stop saying or doing whatever it is he is saying or doing!

I am afraid that I disagree with you Janet

Janet

Janet Report 9 Feb 2011 13:31

Dare I be controversial and say that I don't think most men pick up on anything that is purely a 'feeling'.
I don't want to go into it too deeply as it would take over the thread.I read a book on Asperger Syndrome where it said that as many as 1 in 10 men suffer in various forms. One aspect of it, is a lack of understanding of the feelings of other people( ?Jason on the Ice Dance panel) . The same men if given a nudge, would quite happily ask why they had been given a nudge.Whereas if a woman nudged another woman it would alert her immediately to look for a reason, without words being spoken.
Its this receiving of unspoken messages or feelings that is the basis for the understanding and acceptance of information that we don't fully understand its origins. Some people, by virtue of their makeup are far more receptive than others and I think they are the ones who have shared their stories with us. -jl
