JaneyCanuck Report 9 Dec 2010 18:54

And we're getting it here in Canada too!

It won't quite be live, given the time difference, but I'm taping the 7:00 pm showing on an east coast channel so we can watch it commercial-free later.

I assume yours will be a full hour, while ours will likely be cut to 44 minutes to fit in the commercials ...

They hadn't better do any spoilers. It's Valentine's Day 2010 on Coronation Street for us right now. (And no, do not tell me how long it takes for somebody to figure out that Joe is really dead, and presumably to point the finger at Gail ... we just hope it's soon ...)

Hi Stray
So I really did see a front page with Al Queda and Corrie in the same headline?
I just thought I'd stepped into a parallel universe and brain didn't engage with it!

JaneyCanuck

Now, I may be slow, but I'm not that slow. ;) Gail dunnit ... snork.

I had to google-news that headline, and sure enough:

"the cast will be subjected to full body searches and frisking (with security already bagsying not doing Eddie Windass)"

LOL!!!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 9 Dec 2010 22:15

Well I thought the acting was very good, if it really was all done live it must have been quite gruelling.

I also enjoyed the 50 clips from the shows and it is lovely that Maggie Jones clip took top spot.

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 10 Dec 2010 09:23

yeah i though fizz went a bit over the top, with her labour, but then when i was in labour they were lasses proper going for oscars,

i think it was ok, few lines were bit woodern, molly played her part brilliant i thought, x

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 10 Dec 2010 09:33

Was good. and yes Fizz looked/acted a bit funny lol

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 10 Dec 2010 10:05

Poor Becky...what a c*w of a sister she has.

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 10 Dec 2010 10:14

yes especially as the fireman was so asimant she couldnt go in without on, n no way woule he have been let in to see her without one, small slip up me thinks x

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 10 Dec 2010 12:41

Yes your probably right Srty...it was a slip up.
Leanne is good at bringing on the tears.
A shame about Peter though.

Becky's awful sister has got Max...and wants more money!! BC XX

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 10 Dec 2010 15:31

Yes, Becky's sister said 'I've got max then asked for another £5000.

The fireman definitely said let's get you a hard hat to sally and I wondered why she didn't have it on.

I thought Fizz went a bit over the top with the screaming but for a live show it was a good performance and you could see the strain she was under.

Loved Simon when he was down in the street rescued from the house on fire and he said 'It's a bit smokey in there!'

I was sorry that they killed Peter off. I do hope Leanne doesn't end up with Nick. I was hoping they were going to kill him off not Peter. I guessed Ashley and Molly were going, but why have her tell Sally about Jack, thought that was unnecessary. Not sure Claire's acting was convincing but I may be nit picking.

Actually the people who played the rescue workers, nurses etc. were good, not normal Corrie actors but they were 'live' as well.

On the whole though for an hour live couldn't fault them. I bet they are glad that is over though.

Island

Island Report 10 Dec 2010 16:40

I forgot it was live and thought it was very well done.

Now.........some folk say Peter hasn't died. It might be wishful thinking, I assumed he had but I think anythings possible and we still have tonights ep to go.

So Molly and Ashley (aaw, poor lickle Ashley) definites for stacking their clogs. Peter not sure. Rita? Or Ciaron? Jason? Dev? all of whom breathed in smoke fumes
I wonder what the point was to have the police refer to a male car driver who had died? Where and who?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 10 Dec 2010 17:00

Oh I didn't hear that about a male car driver Island. I did actually wonder if Peter might prove to be alive after all. Rita was still moving last seen, I wonder if she will actually survive? I did read recently that she didn't want to leave. I forgot about Ciaron, but I thought he was out. Can't think of any males who are missing offhand. Jim? But I don't think he is still in it is he?

Island

Island Report 10 Dec 2010 17:34

Hi Ann
I think it was after Sally came out from Molly. One policeman asked about a male car driver and the other said he'd died. I'm wondering if it was Jim - he has been in a couple of episodes and last week he was in hospital after being beaten up. Either by or organised by Owen.

Ciaron is still in it but leaving at some point - allegedly...

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 10 Dec 2010 17:55

Could he have asked about the tram driver not a car driver? Hmm the plot thickens.
