Helllo all,

One of the joys of going walking very early is the the sights. Although cloudy here, I did manage to see the lunar eclipse. Beautiful red moon.

Barbra, I'm glad that you feel better for your break!

Take care all

Morning all.

Was nice here earlier ...piddling down now.Well it had to, as I changed the bed...including,my duvet to my summer one (ha ha) Probably freeze tonight lol.
Joan...that's terrible the carry on with your potting shed.
Tell them you are writing to the Sunday papers about it,that will get them moving. At least you havent paid anything...or have you?

Dolly Report 17 Jun 2011 13:29

Afternoon everyone, hope everyone is well?

Perse, I haven't tried the stuff you said about, anything with vinegar in I hate, but with honey I may try it.

It's raining again today, its so miserable.
Hubby has gone off to a funeral today with his dad, its fil's sister that has died, so quickly too after losing his own wife, my mil in Feb.

Joan you really should ask for discount or free erction of said shed or even both!, you have been treated appallingly! the least they can do is offer a large discount for inconvenience and late delivery of the correct shed.

I hope the weather improves next week for my hols, my cousin wants to take me out for a couple of day trips in London, neither of us can walk far so we are hoping we can find something good to do.
I've always wanted to go to the Victoria and Albert museum, but that entails walking, perhaps we can do it with intervals of sitting down. I also wanted to do the London Eye.
We will have to see how we both feel during that week, unfortunately we both suffer with arthritis of the feet, I also have it elsewhere too.
My cousin is no spring chicken, she was 80 this year and has slowed up alot over the 6/7 years I've been in contact with her, she is such a darling :-) she spoils me with breakfast in bed, I feel so guilty when she struggles and I am a lot younger than her.

I hope the rest of your day is lovely.

My avatar is of my 11 month old kitten Sid, I got him at 4/5 weeks old, he was so tiny, his parents are both feral, he is such an adorable boy.

Hi Dolly.

Thats tough on your FIL,hell get through it though. At least he has you and your OH.

Aww, Kitty looks cute. Doe he have a touch of the 'feral' in him still?
Not that he looks it lol.

I've been to London a few times over the years but it's not my cup of tea,the undergrounds...I dont like been in crowded areas like that.Must be all the years I lived out in the country as a child.

Hi Marion, I too am not keen on London, but unfortunately thats where my cousin lives, well its in Putney, so not too central. I don't like crowds much either. Its funny because as a child she lived down south here near the coast, but has been in London longer.

My Sid does still have a lot of feral in him, he plays very rough and will wander off a long way for a young kitten, but always comes back, he is exceptionally quick at catching things mid flight, be it birds or dragon flies, I hate him doing it but its natural to him, he brings them indoors to me. He is always on the go while he is awake, very fast at everything he does, but I do get him in at night, being out in a village I don't want him getting in the habbit of wandering off when its so quiet. I have always got my cats in at night. I like to know he is safe.

When I got mine shes nearly 7 now. She was one of 5,found dumped in a garden. When I went to see her,her brothers and sister were all terrified and hissing and spitting. she did a bit, and it took a few weeks to get her a bit tamer.
She spent half the time on my knee while I was on here lol.

She hasnt a bad streak in her but still very jumpy at the slightest thing.Loves going on knees.

Dolly Report 17 Jun 2011 17:32

Awwww thats so lovely that she now has a good home with you. Sid was one of 5, he was the only male, my daughter had a black and white female.
He is scared of nothing, but preferes strangers not to come near him.
Sid was brought into a ladies house into her utility room, and into a cupboard amongst the shoes, I think he was given away as young as he was because mum started to bring in dead rabbits to feed the kittens.Sid spent a few weeks being inside my vest tops to keep him warm, at night he slept in a cosy cat bed with blankets and a hot water bottle. and a small furry duck which he still loves to play with.

Sid is my second feral, my first called Dumpy ( found on a dump) was from cat protection and was so timid he lived in a cardboard box under my sideboard and would only come out at night to feed, he took a long while to be tame.

Hello all,

Welcome back Barbra. Weather still wet here which is nice. OH is in hospital tomorrow for a day proceedure (What I call a top and tail) colonoscopy and endoscopy.

Nothing sinister but as her mother died from stomach cancer, dr decided to do the proceedure as a safeguard.

Dolly, I also get frustrated with shoping crowds, people milling aimlessly around. I'm a quick in, buy what's on the list, and out again shopper :-)
