Sorry folks , have had a hectic 48 hours.

Many thanks Mau for taking the time by going into town and looking at The Union Buildings, Yate's and The Mile Castle. x

Well, it looks as if 'THE MILE CASTLE' wins hands down.

We certainly can't do with all those stairs and no lift at the Union. I for one would not be able to get up or down them whether I had had a drink or not Lol. I dont think Ann or Elizabeth would either. I also agree with Mau that 'Yate's' is not suitable. I think I have been in there once.

I shall wait until Mau answers my PM and let you know our final decision, before the nights out.

To make it easier for folks to follow and to entice more members, I shall be putting a new thread up on both Chat and the General boards.,so that the heading and all the details will be at the beginning of the thread. With all those hoping to come on next.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas to help make this meet up one of the best.

Hi All just a quick post onto thread.

Went up to town this morning and I definitely think The Mile Castle will be best ( imo) for the meet,it's near to Central station, has three (shallow)steps at entrance,is on three floors.... but has lifts.Nice place!

Sorry...I cannot make the 6th.

To be honest, I was thinking more of the spring time. ( Granddaughter has very important choir gigs until after Xmas)) But do go ahead without me. If there is a springtime meet I will certainly try to make it.

Oh now you have got me going, just as i was about to settle down and sleep.

I wonder if Jan in Yorkshire and Sue in Wakefield, also Sue from Otley are about anywhere. Oh and of course Gemma in Wakefield. I have all their phone numbers somewhere. It would be great to see them all again.

Hi Susan, do you mean our Fred from Totteridge Lane? I am sure he changed his name to Badger. Not heard from him for ages, hope all is well. with them. He was the first person from GC I spoke to on the telephone.

Have met them both, a few times, the last being at the 'Tall Ships' in Tynemouth. I will never forget that day, Ann from Darlo and her hubby and many others. it was a complete wash out, but it didn't deter us from our picnic, in the pouring rain. Oh what a laugh we had.
