Morning All,
We had one of the 5 item B*S 99p breakfasts this morning.....good value. OH is eating like a horse with being more active and out in the fresh air!! He's painting more of the shed at the moment.
We called at MIL's yesterday and the Warm Front people are fitting the new boiler on Monday, so it will be good its done before winter. They gave us 3 bags of stuff to take to the charity shop while we were there. We may keep some of it!!! lol......2 nearly new stainless steel saucepans, pyrex casserole, not even a scratch on it, new cutlery, new plain white dinner plates.......I wonder why they buy them??

Yes Mandy, having 'pruned' a lot of our own stuff, I don't want to keep too much do I or I'll be back to square one!! I think the saucepans may be swapped with ours. I'm the same with christmas stuff......seems daft giving it cupboard space for just a couple of weeks a year doesn't it? We are having a clearout of the garage and shed sometime, so it might be worth having a boot sale later Shirl. In the meantime, I'll add them to the garage stuff.
FRANK......trespassing on my patch again!! lol We had quite a lot of rain too.......lucky the shed paint was dry by then.......you might find it didn't rain at home.
Mandy I was on the F*P site this morning, but I see my time has run out too!! I was looking at the Chelsea Pensioners. Next wednesday we should be able to do it again.

I have seen a few of those sales Mandy, but we wouldn't be very 'visible' at the end of a cul-de-sac. lol It might be worth putting a notice at the end of the close though and a lot less hassle as you say. Not sure about the neighbours poking through our rubbish!!!!! lol
It's dry here again now and is supposed to be a sunny weekend.
I just discovered that the wife of an uncle I never knew lost 2 brothers in WW1. Brings it home what misery there would have been in those times.

Fiona lovely to see you posting again so you must feel better.
It's nice Frank has taken his pooter with him. I bet he just wants to check to see when our Jane gets home!!
A lovely hare crossed the road in front of me on the way home today. He was'nt in a hurry and he was quite a small one. Lovely black topped ears and he disappeared into a field gate. Have'nt seen one for ages.
Just had a nice glass of red so off to bed now.
See you all in the morning and night night.

Morning All,
Cloudy but dry here.......OH is behind the bottom fence hacking the brambles down.....he's just been in for some long sleeves......now his arms are already scratched, stung and bleeding!!! He found more bits of hardcore in the ditch......they are now where the pond was, helping to fill the hole. lol
I think Rutland might be nearest to me Shirl......it was 'my patch' for a while when I worked.......pretty villages built in a dark golden stone and nice pubs!! The edge of it would be about 10-15 miles from me.
My back keeps playing up so I've come in for a cuppa......just planted half a dozen more lettuce in the greenhouse. I did think about going to see my friend with the ponies....she's at a local show again.....but I don't think my back would like sitting for ages. She's at another show soon so I might go to that instead.

It is still and sunny here now, but quite cloudy. OH saw a fox in the field at the back this morning. It was near where the rabbit holes are!!
Frank, it sounds like I might hear the tills ringing in Leicester then if your gals get there !! lol
I'm hobbling about now......remember turning over in the night and feeling a sharp pain......that's what did it I think. Sending OH out in a bit to get some shopping and some painkillers.

I feel quite brave, being this far away from her, and safe. I have sticks of Rock from Son and DIL from Torquay, So she can keep her rock !!!!! She won't get onto me, SHE LOVES ME TOO MUCH !!!!
Very cool north wind here, and cloudy. It could rain at anytime.
Your OH and that digger Mel, He will end up uncovering ancient relics. from the Stone age. and then you will have the local Museum taking over your garden !!!!
Annx, When I first retired I helped out a friend who was a manager of a letting agency. I would go round to the Houses during the students holidays, and clear the gardens. The brambles were horrific to clear. I would chop them down and stack them up for someone to collect in a lorry. I would go home scratched to pieces. and thorns in all parts including my BUM. good job for ROS. !!!!
Mandy I think we will either have an Indian Takeaway, or pop round to the Pub for a meal this evening. Hope you have a good meal.
You wouldn't believe, Last night I took Ros's tablets instead of mine. hers for diabitis, and pain, at least I haven't got Diabitis this morning !!!!! She didn't half give me stick.

'OL GAL is back !!!!!!!.Just you wait Frank lol.I have just spent the last 45 minutes reading through all the posts since I went.Carol ....more memories please . Fiona I'm glad you are back and that your results were clear. I haven't even unpacked my suitcase yet ! but have unpacked everything else.I can't believe how much stuff we have come back with . We had a lovely time although as I said in the postcard the cottage was very small and not as comfortable as we normally have.I'm not complaining though .The cottage was originally built in 1480 as a farm labourer's home,so it would have just been a 1 up and 1 down then.I have pictures I will send when I get them on here. My son arrived home on tuesday ....I thought it was next tuesday he was coming .So you can imagine the washing!!!!!!!!!.He is half way through. My daughter's review will be in 'Look Magazine 'on tuesday (Health Spa).I think there will be a photo of her too. Mandy the boat at the bottom of the garden was a rowing boat lol.But I didn't venture out in it as there was a Swan with attitude and I didn't fancy getting batted out of the boat.I have a great photo of him. Right I must go and empty this case now so BBL
David I remember the ad John Collier,John Collier the Window to watch and the tune lol

I'm taking Ibup*ofen at the moment Shirl and have slapped a hot water bottle over it. I can't believe that twinge has led to this!! Hope it's better tomorrow. It feels like it is a pulled muscle.
I have just discovered on my tree that the mother of the transported rellie on my tree died on a voyage to Australia to see him!!

Ann, take paracetamol as well as Ibuprofen, that will help the pain and the Ibuprofen with the inflammation .OH had stiff knees on holiday and when he came up the 'STEEP' stairs to the bedroom ,all I could hear was Oh Oh Oh each step lol.The toilet was downstairs and getting up in the night was a bit of a do as it was so dark.I ended up leaving a lamp on downstairs so I didn't need to put the bedroom light on. I kept trying to imagine what it would have been like to live in the cottage 500 years ago. There was maybe a pig in the shed in the garden (if they were lucky) ,chickens scratting around ,and a lot of children with their backsides hanging out of ragged trousers. The fireplace was big ,and I suppose that was where the cooking was done. They would have caught fish out of the river, and had big vegetable patches where the lawns are. OH is out surveying the garden now.He had a good mooch around the garden of the owners of the cottage (they were away on holiday) and he has some new ideas lol I still haven't emptied my case.I will leave that until tomorrow now as there is too much washing and drying going on ,without mine. Chester will be home at 10am tomorrow.I can't wait to see him.I hope he has been ok.There has been no no phone calls so he must have been alright. Ann ,you have found some interesting things on that tree of yours.Did it say how the Mother died?
