Okay there are times when I've felt that Eldrick has come across as patronising but Paul you need to grow up. You're sounding like a petulant toddler and your language is offensive on what is a family site.

I too have done my duty.Early this morning.Only me and OH there ,and the 2 ladies overseeing things lol.

Eldrick Report 6 May 2010 17:14

Oh dear. I really can't get that het up anymore about name calling on the internet. It really doesn't bother me, Daff, not in the slightest, it means absolutely nothing.

Not everyone has the same sense of humour. Come to think of it, not everyone has a sense of humour:-)

Paul, without being patronising, let me ask you a few questions.

1. Do you use the NHS?
2. Do you pay income tax, or if not, do you use the benefits system, or live on state pension?
3. Do you pay Council Tax?
4. Do you pay VAT on your food, heating, clothes etc?
6. If yes to the above, why NOT vote for those who govern these very things?
7. If you wont' vote because you feel 'ruled', how would you have this country run and who by? Who would pay for it and how?

If it's offensive ...it's offensive...
Whether it be words or otherwise....

HE was being patronizing...I took offence...

MrDaff Report 6 May 2010 17:10

Paul, I don't think patronizing is quite the same as foul and offensive language.

Not that I think Eldrick was patronizing at all.

But your language is most certainly unacceptable

Just read the following that I found interesting

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/election_2010/8661984.stm
What can you NOT do in a polling station?

And I might have put a tick instead of a cross if I had known the following :-)
DO I HAVE TO MARK MY CROSS WITH A PENCIL ON A STRING?
No, the election is not being electronically counted. So if you prefer you can use a pen. You can even mark the box with a tick instead. The important thing is that your voting intention is clear.

Eldrick doesn't report.

But I have.

I don't know the origins of one word, but it sounds rude... I have googled it and you meant it rudely.

The other word I find deeply deeply offensive.

This has been a lovely thread....

lol

I love the ad hominum ones who haven't got an argument but instead think they win by calling nasty names. :-)

No, I don't report people, I like to read their comments, it amuses me :-) What you think of me affects me exactly - let me think - no, I can't think of anything that small apart from - well, it's a family site so I will leave it to your imagination.

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 6 May 2010 16:47

lol Paul

You would obviously prefer to live in an anarchy then.

You don't know me, never met me and never will. So you dont know what I prefer to live in because it certainly isn't obvious. Personally, if I hated living in a place where people get the chance to vote, then I'd move to an island and live alone or with a group of like minded people who didn't need any rules. I think there's a good novel about a society like that....

i know Daff, I was abit taken aback when they asked , They fluffed when i replied & said they were just crossing off names they had been given who said they would be voting for that party Wrong cos i have never voted for them AND no one has been canvassing anyway.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 6 May 2010 16:41

Actually, Shirley, they are not allowed to ask you who you are voting for... I would complain...... cheeky devils!

Me & OH did ours at 1.30. then went to B&Qs !! not thats its relevant.
Said to OH I want to vote then i can have a moan about them later.
Was accosted on the way in and got a bit uptight when asked who i might be voting for !! wont say which party but I dont vote for them anyway. I replied i thought the vote was secret so why ask who i am voting for,
There has been a sad lacking in political canvassing around our way in fact NO one came around.
