Endnote to Paul:

All I'm saying in short, is those who moan about a government should only do so if they are prepared to try and vote them OUT in an election, and vote for someone else, or stand as a candidate themselves.


Rose, no I didn't vote tactically. I know when I used to live in Essex my vote often meant another party getting in, but I still voted with my heart, and always have.

Did any of you vote 'tactically'? I wavered on that a little being in a new area for me, but in the end voted as I always have done, on instinct and experience.

Paul, That's very true, but there is just as much corruption and lining of pockets in the banks which brought this country to its knees, but you still put your money there. Which is worse? At least now the expenses scam is out in the open, and all parties are planning total reforms, to make THEM, more answerable to US...who are, let's face it, there because of those who vote for them. They will become accountable. Are the bank fatcats going to be just as accountable? I don't think so.

That kind of greed and corruption goes on in all circles not just government. I agree it should never have happened, but it did, and it's what happens now that matters. Those who have been caught red-handed are gone. They did not ALL abuse the expenses system.

I will say though, and I hope I don't sound patronising when I say this either, I really don't mean to, but I fail to see how anyone can moan about a government if they don't use their vote. OK they might not get the government they want, but if you're not going to try, don't moan about the one you get.

Imagine the difference if EVERYONE voted...because there are a few million non-voters who could have made that difference.

without your vote you will still be ruled by the rules and laws of this country and what the government choose to do ,,,,,,thats a delightful thought,!!.....

On the way home from voting, I was pondering whether there is an advantage for the candidates in having a surname which has an initial letter from near the front of the alphabet.
Much easier to spot the first name on the list, rather than have to look for any others.

Re. speaking to someone outside the polling station I offered our numbers to a local councillor who I recognised. He told me he was not allowed to speak to me before I vote, but Yes he'd like them on the way out.

BUT as someone who wasnt going to vote, overt he last few days i have been talked thro things on here, about the voting, that i didnt understand! thanks to muffy mainly and "coughs" TW sorta lolololol,


and today yes i did go and vote, i voted int he past just coz everyone else was, i even enjoyed trying to explain to baby S, why we were there and what we were doing,

..Im not voting for people who do not have any interest in the people..they are all out for what they can get.....power....money.....and self gratification. Running the county is a side line...
They line their pockets... which has been proved by the expense scandal.

And how long has that been going on?..and still would be if it wasn't brought to public attention.

They are not people I would vote for.....
