I think I have been here for nearly 3 years.I started of as Helen(Birth Name),but decided it didn't feel right to be called Helen so changed to my proper name.

Been here since 2006, so not really an old member....but I am old.

Started off as ShimmeringS, got knighted twice lol. Whatever name I use, Shimms will be always be in it somewhere. Everyone calls me Shimms and I've been here 4-5 years. :))

LOL....Helen ....it seems I joined 3 days before you . 10th Dec.2003 .
But I did let my membership lapse at one point and got lured back by a possiable family connection......been here ever since .

I joined in February 2003 and was always known as Chrissie Smiff. When the site changed I tried to keep it as my board name but it said that it wasn't an acceptable name:)) I tried every variation of Chrissie but they had all been taken. I got so cross that I even tried 'what can I be then', but it wouldn't let me be that. So you can see the boring name I was left with :))
p.s. I don't do much apart from genealogy these days.

Click on Community at the top of the screen, then Board summary, then scroll right the way down to where you can put another name above "Hide your real name and show a friendly alias when posting to the community boards" - it won't accept spaces between words or names there but you could be ChrissieSmiff :-)

Apparently I joined 14 Oct 2003, so not quite as 'old' a member as some others, but still old. And I am 74 yrs old. I started off as my maiden name (I think) of Huia Bettany but think I have since used Old Crow but prefer to keep the name Huia in my board name so people know who I am.

My hubby used to refer to me as The Old Crow because Huia is a Maori name for a bird, an extint member of the wattled crow family. I was born and bred in New Zealand but my gt grandparents all came from England.
