Seriously, I hope Sue is feeling a bit better this morning. Whoever questioned her identity must have done it in an antagonistic way to produce such a reaction, that clearly shows Sue was upset by it. There are ways to ask and ways not to ask. So whoever it was, I hope they will apologise to Sue in due course for causing so much upset.

This is the reason I made my name clear from the onset. When I joined Genes three years ago, I realised that there was several Julia's,Julies and Jules. So, to avoid confusion I signed my posts as 'Julia in Derbyshire', so that there was no mistaken identities. Now, we have a flood of the same names again,eg Julia (in Cambs), good morning to you Julia, but her posts are different in context to mine anyway.
I am not blaming people for changing their board names if they want to, at any given time, but please try and give a link to the previous name, then we will know who you are.
I can cope with the Christmas names, as they soon go back to their normal names, but it is the more obscure, that leave me wondering. And, as we have people with multi accounts/names, it is bound to create confussion
Susan, I hope the person that upset you so much, soon apologises.

People returning to the site after being away quite a while would not know about the community board place to change the board name, so .... BRB

Click on Community at the top of the screen, then boards summary, then scroll right down to
Hide your real name and show a friendly alias when posting to the community boards
where you can put another name.
It doesn't allow spaces there.
To put a name with spaces between words / names, then one can do that in one's "proper" name.
Hope that is reasonably clear :-)

oh dearie me, no wonder you are upset Susan, it appears that someone is being very narcissistic and very childsih, I wouldnt be very happy if someone tried telling me who I can and can't have on my friends list as well.

Oh dear. I dont know what is going on but this is one of the reasons I dont use facebook. To many stories and muck stirring passed from one site to another.

Marion I have friends from everywhere on my FB GR work family old school friends I am very choosey but I can tell you now its a GR free zone. :)

My FB account has nothing to do with GR and vice versa. I do have some GR mates on FB but I also have family. I don't muck stir or pass stories from one site to the other. If managed properly FB can be a wonderful way to keep in touch with overseas family and it was particularly good when my son was deployed overseas. Just because someone has been upset on FB doesn't mean everyone has problems.

This is plain daft, anyone who knows me would recognise me on FB or at the very least know it was me because of unique family members and friends.

They would also know it was me because of certain words I use, adjectives used to describe me, photographs of family who have been mentioned on here etc.,

I have a very small list of friends on FB because it's used to share photos with family.

So if these friends who have been saying that Susan (Sue 2) is really me they are being stupid.

I hope that Susan can get it sorted out and isn't upset again.

I don't usually comment yet I so feel for Sue, indeed all the Sue's.

My F'bk page has many friends from all over and I have no problems. We laugh, we cry, we chat ... some of my family are on there. To me it's a question of trust, it's a happy place ...

I hope Susan gets it sorted too but it isn't the fault of the FaceBook site but some of the people who use it. I'm very careful about who I have on my friends' list. I get very annoyed with throw away comments about what a terrible site it is.

I doubt very much that this involves me but if it does I don't much care. I do think it's a shame that Susan is upset.
