MNG It is not real you know!!Lol!!!

I agree with you, I thought the same, quite an unbelievable storyline this? How did Stacey get the baby on her passport, was it when she was going to flit before?

I have found the story very hard to watch, very uncomfortable. I am not saying it couldn't happen, as we saw last night Cat knew it wasn't her baby, Dads are not so perceptive I guess.

I just feel sorry for all those people like my Gt niece who lost a baby through cot death, it must be too painful to watch. The acting was very good, which made it all the more painful to watch.

Hi ladies.

Very sad. what is in that they love to leave babies alone. Staceys baby was left up stairs on its own for ages while a party went on...door open for anyone to to walk in etc.
Ronnie being left to cope with a new baby hours after giving birth. New year or not plenty friends and rellies about yet she stayed alone..
I know its not real and babies and children are left alone in te real world. Maybe they are trying to get a message over.....dont leave your babies alone especially newborns.

I agree it must be heartbreaking for people who have been through cot deaths.

I heard the story line was going to go on for years.

When I was in having my first. There was another baby with same second name born within in hours of mine.
I coulnt under stand why i was put on a diet I didnt think i was that bad. turned out they got the mums mixed up. Then blood tests for the babies one had jaundice (sp) had to wait another day for tests being redone. Turned out it was mine and by this time I was bubbling wreck lol.

It is not only babies left alone who die from cot death. Our little one was by his Mum (he was 9 months so not a new born). lying on a quilt on the floor, no reason for him to die, not suffocated or anything just sudden infant death. So sad.

It is not the death that I find upsetting it is the swap. and the anguish caused to another family which they can see living near. How would anyone be able to do that?

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 4 Jan 2011 14:36

As usual I didnt mean that the way it sounded lol.
I know it can happen to anyone anytime :((.
It was the way EE had the story line.

Poor Ronnie she hasnt had much luck in her life has she?

Yes it is a horrible story. She didnt intend to do it though. If the other one hadnt been crying, left on his own, while everyone was knocking back the booze., it woulnt have happened. She only wanted help.

I think if Jack had not come home when he did she would have treturned Tommy but he grabbed him and said 'is this my son' and she didn't know how to get out of it. I know it is not real but I don't like the story line.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Jan 2011 16:11

It looks as thought the BBC have had more than 2000 complaints about the storyline.

Gwyn in Kent Report 4 Jan 2011 17:29

I haven't watched all of the recent programmes, but found the death of the baby too close in timing to a cot death in our family. 30th December always brings back such sad memories of the loss of a 10 week old baby. Like in Ann's family, this child was not alone in bed, but was in it's pram near family.
I hope that they treat the rest of the storyline with sensitivity.

I was reading some comments in various papers and on line and people really are upset about the story line, however it is the swap that is upsetting people the general opinion seems to be that the BBC lost the chance to deal sensitively with cot death by dramatising it too much into the swap. I think the storyline came from a male from what I could make out.

Am having a break.
Can't watch EE at the moment, for no other reason than everyone in it seems to have turned into an alien, transformed into evil viscious nasties possessed by the devil, intent on stabbing their neighbours and even own family members in the back at the slightest opportunity.
I KNOW its not real, LOL, but isn't is supposed to depict real life? Huh!! they're (the writers) are having a laugh aren't they?

I can't remember the last time I saw anyone smile happily, let alone laugh, in that programme! But they're all very good at shouting and screeching at each other!
I'll get off me soap box now, ta very much.!! LOL

Wasn't a lot better last night. I wonder if there was any significance in Cat listing to Alfie what the police has taken away for investigation, i8ncluding Tommy's nappies? I wonder if they can tell from the post mortem that the nappies belonged to a different baby. I do think the acting continues to be good. Which is probably why it is difficult to watch, too realistic.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 5 Jan 2011 13:41

I hope she doesnt get away with it.
I did hear on tv that it goes on for years, but maybe that was just to get everyone to watch it.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 5 Jan 2011 13:45
