Hi all,
Well, still sleeping ok with the mask and not feeling so tired during the day any more. Hope my memory improves as well.
The rep from the mask firm are coming to see me again next week. They will take out the chip in the machine and put it in the rep's laptop computer and then they can see what I have been doing.
Has anybody else here with apneu?
I made a nice card for a friend I met on the internet who has just become "granny"for the first time. She sent me a photo of the baby and I printed this out and placed it behind an oval aperture and then decorated the card with "Its a boy" ribbon and some text - not too busy. I managed to find a comical baby bib in English too. She received it today and thought it very unusual.
I watched our baby blue tit leave the nest yesterday. It peeped through the hole and then flew against our window and then on top of the nesting box and then away not to be seen again. Sad, I miss seeing mum and dad flying in and out of the nesting box,
Greetings Syl xxx

Be interesting to see the result when they check the chip Sylvia.
Your baby card sounds nice.

Evening ladies, hope you are all keeping well. Still have my cough & cold begins to go then comes back again, think it is also mixed in with hay fever which I normally get in March from trees but seems to be late this year. Still have not seen new granddaughter but am babysitting for her tomorrow so will get plenty of time with her then. DIL has the cough and cold so she is not worried about mine now!!

Sylvia lovely to hear that you are not feeling so tired all the time, hope you carry on improving. The baby card sounds so lovely and very special.

Weather here has been glorious if a little cold, but the sunshine makes everything seem fine - although today I had a line full of bed linen and towels drying nicely when a near neighbour lit a bonfire!!!!!! 2pm is a little early I think to have one. I was so cross.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Hallo all,
Well things are still improving with me. I can now stay awake the whole day. A small problem early this morning. I woke Johan up with the noise of my mask (the machine). One of the straps must have become loose and air was blowing in my eyes and mouth and making a horrible noise. It didn't wake me. I was awoken by Johan kicking me - softly in bed. I just undid the mask and slept the rest of the time without mask. I must ask the mechanic what I can do to avoid this in future. He is coming round one of these days.
The weather is still too cold for me and we have the central heating on every evening.
Yes, I was also pleased with the baby card and so was the recipient, who herself makes beautiful cards.
Bonfires are one thing I am glad I don't live in England any more. Nobody here has them at all.
Now till the next time.
Love Sylvia xxx

There was a warning about the toxicity of bonfires, it said more people would be burning their rubbish with the strict recycling laws. However it is illegal to burn anything that puts toxic waste into the atmosphere. Worth asking your local council Jo if there is a local bye law regarding bonfires. I hate the things, so thoughtless.

Good morning to you all.
Sorry that I am a bit erratic coming on but weeks seem to fly by, very busy with animals and craft workshops and now our crafting holiday website has been launched.
Quick tip,any off you that use stazon ink on your stamps, avoid using it on your acrylic stamps like clarity as its too strong and can end up eating into the stamp. I was having problems with it sticking to the card when I stamped so asked on another forum and several people answered with the same info. If you make sure you clean it well it could be OK but I am back with my momento tuxedo black.

Sylvia, sounds like things are improving, just need to find out about the noise for poor Johan.

Jill, I have heard several demonstrators on C&C saying about not using stazon unless you clean it immediately and also that some of the cleaners cause damage to the stamps.

Lovely day here again, had baby Jessica and other daughters 2yr old here for the morning she is such a sweetie. Now off to visit my neighbour who has MS for a couple of hours whilst her hubby goes out for a break.
Take care all

I stayed in today even though it was nice weather as I had promised to bake some little cakes for my help's little girl who will be 10 years of age tomorrow. I was not feeling too well this morning and didn't get washed and dressed until lunch time., so it has been a bit of a muddling day.
Tomorrow my hairdresser will be coming instead of Friday because Friday is the official birthday of our queen and everybody is free and every little village, town etc. will have their own festivities, including lots of stalls with both new and secondhand goods and the one day in the year when children are allowed to have a stall and sell their outgrown toys etc.
Have a nice evening. Sylvia xxx

Oh yes Sylvia, Eileen on the anxieties thread was telling us of that tradition, it sounds like fun.
Hope you feel better tomorrow and that the cakes are a success.

Evening ladies, it has turned so cold and wet here today need lots of jumpers!!. Have robins nesting in a strawberry pot on the patio, the little ones must be so wet and cold at the moment.

Not sure if I thanked you all for the wonderful birthday cards I received, some designs I will definitely be copying!!!!!!

Sylvia hope you are feeling a little better tomorrow. The tradition for the queens birthday sounds so nice, why don't we have anything like that I wonder.

Have any of you the Martha Stewart 'punch around the page' punches. I love the double border one and just wondered how easy it is to use also can you use it on card.

Turned cold here this afternoon too, heating went on again. Shan't be sorry to get to Tenerife where the temp is a little warmer.
No not used those punches Jo, or seen them even, they sound interesting. You could ask on the scrap book thread, somebody on there might have used them.

Afternoon girls,

I saw a lot of demo's at the NEC for Martha Stewart punches Jojo, they look great don't they, a bit pricey for me though...... think they would be ok through thin card.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend, speak soon

Hi Heather, lovely to see you.

Jill in France

Jill in France Report 30 Apr 2010 21:41

Jo, they are the best punches ever and easy to use on card as long as its not too thick.
I have the three dots one, a flower fan one plus several deep edge punches, well worth the money .
I was lucky to also win a set on a craft forum :)

Hope everyone has a good weekend

Hallo all,
What a weather isn't it. Just as we think that winter is over we get snow and rain returning. Those poor people in Spain with all that snow. Their houses are not built for the extreme cold weather.
I went out to the market yesterday and bought some plants but it is too cold for my to do my tubs in the cold on the balcony. The stallholder on the market was shivering. She said she had tried to buy herself a scarf for the cold but couldn't buy one at this time of the year.
Anyway don't feel guilty about sitting near the central heating making more cards. Has anybody started making Xmas cards yet? If this cold weather remains I'll have my Xmas cards finished on time this year!
Tomorrow is Mothers Day here so will be kept busy. I've baked bread today as well as a batch of cakes and a Clafoutis (French custard tart). I was going to make a curry for tomorrow but my daughter's ex turned up with a bunch of flowers f or me. This made me stop and realise how old I was! Probably trying to do too much.

Do you have Mot hers Day too Jill?
Keep busy, Sylvia xxx

Afternoon ladies,

Sylvia, I've thought about christmas cards but not actually made any yet, I'd like to find a design that I can do for everyone this year, a simple one :)
I love the smell of fresh baked bread, I try to make 3/4 loaves a week, but just lately find I make more as everyone that visits wants one.

Must get on, lots of birthday cards to make & send.

Hope everyone is keeping well, the sun is shining today :)

Hi all,
Here we are again from a dry but cold and windy Almere. Yesterday was Ascension Day so everybody was again free and there were some stalls set up outside the shops that were closed. My handwork shop had a stall and the lady who owns the shop said she wasn't staying outside long as the wind was too cold. I just bought a couple of sheets to cut up. I had to go out shopping because it was hospital day for me again today and I don't like shopping on Saturday or Sunday. My neighbour just phoned from Hungary where she has been for several weeks and asked me to get some shopping in for her. I've asked Johan to go as I want to bake an apple tart for her and some bread for myself.
I'll be pleased when we have a normal week again. We've had Easter, Remembrance Day, Day of Liberty, Ascension Day and then Whitsun coming up. Some shops are open and others not, so it's always confusing.
Have a nice weekend, Sylvia xxx

Hi all,
Just a few words because I see that nobody has added for a few days.
I'm busy thinking of a design for a card for the next lot of birthday girls cards which I can make all the same. The brain doesn't always tick over when I want it to.
I am still only getting 4 hours sleep per night so that might make a difference. Tomorrow I see the representative about the mask I have to wear at night. I saw my lung doctor last week and he told me there is a much smaller mask on the market and this might be better for me as the one I have now has brought back my asthma again.
I have never fancied using the stamps myself but must admit there seem to be some beautiful ones around at the moment. I have drawers full of bits and bobs which I won't use up if I live to 150!!
Until the next time, Sylvia xxx
