A stroll along the seafront at Morecambe sounds romantic Barbra, particularly if you look across the bay to the ICI chemical plant :0))

The Brits are doing well in the cricket, the Ozzies not so well, and even worse for Ricky Ponting whos has been fined $6,000.00 dollars for arguing with the Umpires

You can come over and box my ears Allan. I wear hearing aids and they go into this special drying out storage container overnight. These are called my ears... I don't usually put them on/in until I have had a shower, I am dead scared I will get in the shower with them on. So whilst I can hear, I might miss bits of the conversation - I just say can't hear haven't got my ears on yet.

"we have only recentlt bought the new computer" = yes you definitely need some help - I type t with my left hand and y with the right. I can't use one of those ergonomic keyboards because the place that the division is is not in the correct place for us geriatric typists. LOL Allan

Hello Sandie and everyone:-)

Sandie~~~~~~ VB, is Victoria Bitter, yes its an alcoholic beverage, LOL. Its beer, I'm sure Tony would be sitting by his pool having a nice cold one, unless he prefers Fosters or Crownies, LOL!!
My cousin while he was over from the UK, was drinking a strange beer, I think they were called John Brown? They had a widget in the can, which I thought was quite peculiar!

~~~~~~~ to all:-)
Barley wine!! when i was a child my grandad & Gran had there own pub . i use to go in & take the glasses of the table & have a drink of beer,, .they would be closed down today if that happened ~~~~~~~~~~~~~to all from a sober Barbra xx
Hello to all
Persey, its just me hitting the wrong keys and being too vain to wear my glasses!
Sandie, I'm using Windows 7. Previously I was using Windows XP Professional but on the old machine I also had Google Tool Bar which had a spell checker on it. I removed the tool bar when the machine started playing up.
With my new system Bing is the search Engine installed by the shop and I haven't yet got around to reinstalling Google.
Carole I don't drink much beer but VB is up there as one of my favourites.
Barbra, its a good job that I don't run a pub, I'd drink the profits. When I was a lot younger, when people thought that the world was flat, I used to wait on at private parties, particularly over the festive season. The hint I was given was get the b*st*rds as drunk as possible as quickly as possible and they would then look after themselves. It worked every time and even though I was paid until about 2.00am I never did much work after 10.00pm
I am convinced that the Rovers Return cannot possibly be profitable the amount of helping themselves and drinks on the house etc.
I don't know Bing - we have google (of course) and Dog Pile. But cannot you just pull up google on bing ie put google in and it should come up?
Now going to look for Bing - he is probably singing in a corner of the pub somewhere.
Persephone Report 28 Dec 2010 22:57
I googled Bing and yep I can use it.
My grandson (9) sings lots of old songs - he was singing "That's why the lady is a Tramp" the other day. He is a good dancer as well - belongs to a dance group, he does the Kevin Bacon moves from Footloose.
Helo Barbra and Persey
Bing is a relatively new search engine and is made up of some older ones repackaged.
After the problems with my old system I'm a little wary of making too many changes to this one until I am more used to the various changes between the operating systems.
I hope that you are both well
Hi Barbra
I'm well and have managed to score a months work at a Council not too far from where I live. I say a month but it actually works out to ten days in total but spread throughout January.
The weather is manageable at the moment without having to resort to the airconditioning. Also it is cool during the night. However, next Monday and Tuesday we are forecast to be back up at 36c again, with 40c for Perth!
Should have a sign up
Posts cross here.... like they do for Koalas and echidnas etc.
We were down country on Christmas Day and here were seven doves in the middle of the road, they are really quite silly because they would fly up in the air and then settle down again a few yards further along the road. It took them awhile to get the message that we had right of way and they couldn't keep parking in front of us. The next thing here was a drake with what could only be described as his harem of ducks and he was very manly making sure they all got across the road safely.
We try and do as many back roads as we can for change of scenery - we end up seeing some strange goings on at times.
Not Cross Persey xx
