Might be worth keeping an eye on this site...if you go camping lol
It's not bad this time of year though

http://www.midgeforecast.co.uk/2008/

I've lived in Scotland all my life and I am still finding lovely places.
I prefer seeing the little places as to Edinburgh/Glasgow.
I've been to lots of places this year alone. Lossiemouth,Nairn, Gareloch,Inverness,Dingwall,Aviemore,Fife and Angus.

Loved Gareloch but wasnt so keen on some of the wee wynding roads and the sheep, but that'a part of it.

Marion
Let me know when you're planning to visit. I'm up on Friday and will take note of B&B etc.
Don't forget to book in advance on teh train as it's much cheaper. You should also be able to get a cheap fare to Kof L. and you may be better to split the journey when you're checking the fares. So - G. to Inv and then Inv to Kyle.
You can get a bus across to Kyleakin or, if it's a nice day, walk over as the scenery is smashing.
Wenders, same as with Marion! Let me know if and when you're coming and maybe we can meet up. PM if you like as I don't always come on here, time is in short supply!!
It's Drumnadrochit, Keith!!! And Nessie is alive and well and waiting for your return!!!

Lol Marion, what did you think ?? I have always said don't go to Western Scotland if you want bright lights. It is like stepping back in time. All the towns are so laid back and the fashions are unbelievable in the shops. But I love it, pure escapism

Marion, I don't know but I would imagine there should be a local bus from Kyle to Kyleakin. That is the first place on Skye, and a pleasant place to visit. If not I guess a taxi over would be quite reasonable as only 5 minutes.
Edited as just remembered that I believe Gavin Maxwell (Ring of Bright Water) bought and lived in the lighthouse in Kyleakin on Skye.

Hi wendy

Never been myself with the kids to much money

But my sister moved there 2 years ago near Inverness a place called Nairn. She loves it

when I call her and say about the weather she say's to me dont listen to the forcast cos we live in a cove we miss all that

My parent's have gone to see her on many occasions and they love it

Look into it you have a lot of things on the door step and you seem to miss the bad weather.

If you do go say hello to my sister for me please LOL

Have a good time

Deb K
