Hello, Sorry that I have not been on here in the last few days. Felt out of sorts a few days ago and then was in the kitchen the day before yesterday, just doing the usual tidying when I suddenly had a really bad Migrain develop. Full on flashes of coulors and shapes, balance just disappeared and the top of my head was so tender but painful. OH helped me to the bed, and pulled the shutters down.........it lasted until yesterday late afternoon and still feeing weak today. I have not had a migraine this strong for a few years and had hoped that I would not have any more! Still feeling tired and lethargic.
Hope that you all have a good day

Sorry you have been not well Bridget, the migraine sounds nasty, especially coming on so suddenly and lasting so long. Have you been overdoing things do you think? Or eating something different? Anyway I hope that you feel better now and will soon be back to full health.
We have been away for the weekend to Bristol. We got home around 1pm, today, stopped at Cribbs Causeway outside Bristol for a couple of hours, could have stopped at Cadbury World as we do want to go there and we passed it today (came out of Bristol on a different road but wanted to get to cribbs before the car parks filled up.)
had a lovely break, hotel was very good and the weather stayed mostly fine although cold. Had a slight shower while shopping Sunday. South Pacific was OK, Not what we'd call a sparkling show and not one I would want to see again. Samantha Womack was really good as Nellie but I didn't much like the person who played Emille, I didn't warm to him as the character and didn't think his voice was right for the part - too deep and gravelly. The trouble is it was a great film and the stage show seemed to lack the scenery to make it atmospheric. Being a London production now out of tour we thought it was a bit lack lustre.
Shopping in Bristol was very good as well, a lot of people around and we went to a new restaurant on Saturday before the show called Za Za Bazaar. All you can eat, loads of different 'stations', Indian, Italian, English, Chinese, Burghersetc, Salad and sweets. Not cheap on a Saturday, apparently cheaper mid week. about £15.99 each plus wine (also not cheap), but a different experience and the food was mostly good. ate in the hotel last night and that was good too.

Sorry to hear about your migraine Bridget...never had one myself, but my daughter is a sufferer and I know that it does to her...she has these new tablets which help..but a darkened room is the only real solution, hope you are back to normal soon. Ann you obviously had a good time out .....

Good evening all. Good morning from me. It's supposed to be summer here, but apart from two very hot days about a week ago - nothing. We are back to weather usually known in late winter/early spring. Yesterday was our coldest December day in sixteen years. (Felt like it!). To-day forecast to be the same.
Bridget - I sympathise with you. I used to get migraines a lot when I was younger but only once since I went onto blood pressure tablets and began to wear glasses all the time. That 'once' was when I had not refilled my B.P. script. Since then, I rarely get a normal headache unless the humidity is high, I am over-tired or eat chocolate/cocoa. Don't ignore your headaches. Have a checkup.

Thank you everyone for a) keeping the posts coming along and b) for your concerns re my migraine. I have noted everything said and I think it may have been caused by some anxiety at not hearing from one of my sons, as it is he has just been busy and secondly I have eaten more chocolate than usual...just fancied it butI will go back to only eating it occasionally. Feeling much better today. My granddaughter was 12 yesterday and she sounded so excited at all her presents...I think we have spoilt her this year but those who read my thread about her will know why. Had a nasty experience with the computers this morning but thanks to OH we have managed to save everything and added new protection....aren't some people awful with the way the hack into others emails etc and leave the most disgusting material, of course it is well nigh impossible to catch who they are but OH does know how to manage.
Well lunch is about to be served by OH but I may be back later.
:-) feeling better smile!

Good afternoon from rather chilly but sunny Spain. In fact just as I wrote that sentence OH lit the gas fire. It is very efficient.
Sorry to hear that the twins are back in hospital, I will say a special prayer just for them. It is so worrying when such young children are in hospital.
I am busy with my family tree both on GR and Ancestry, and have found some conflicting info. About 98 % is absolutely correct on Ancestry 10% isstillquite. a lot of people and places!

Cold outside today but lovely sunshine so was able to get out and fill all the bird feeders. OH put up the outside lights as well.
Then..... The Christmas tree lights which have been on the fully decorated tree for four days, blew and we can't find out why. They are quite old so will have to buy a new set, not sure quite how we will manage that.
Then, I am really not looking forward to our turkey now. We went To S********s because our T***o only had Bernard M Turkeys and I won't buy their meat. We only wanted a really small bird as we didn't want to freeze left overs or waste it and it cost the same for our small bird as a much larger one. OK I know that is not unusual with turkey. What I am now upset about is, having bought a taste the difference one, I have just read a tasting report in the DM and S's only scored 2 out of 10 for their turkey when cooked. I had initially said we'd go to Wai**** but our only one is a trek away so we didn't. They scored 9 out of 10 for theirs, all the rest were much lower except M&S who scored 8.
All I can hope for is it was their cooking!!! I shall have to try and jazz it up a bit because they said it was tasteless.

Just showing the flag. Nothing much happening here but at least the temperature is beginning to move up to normal. Nice day coming up with clear blue sky and a possible 27. Not like what I hear from your side of the world. Hope you are all able to keep warm.

Thank you everyone for all your interesting entries. Hope that all your wishes come true. I have been feeling very low today but no real reason to do so. I have upset OH, myself and some friends....I wish that I did not feel this wY from time to time. I try so hard to keep this demon at arms length but he visits most unexpectedly......I have learnt not to listen to deeply but .... Please stay positive with me, I will not do anything which could hurt others but feel as if I am in the. Debth of loneliness aven though this is not true.... Hope that makes sence. Oh is playing music, the tv is showing the news and jet and Joe are asleep

Bridget - I think we all have those times. It's a good time to think of others who are worse off than we are and we then appreciate our own situation.
Sounds like there is utter contentment at your place with music and sleeping dogs - and there are lots of people who would not be able to be contented with that because of their circumstances. .. You'll get over it and wonder why you felt like this - don't worry about it - it's a passing phase - quite normal.

Oh Bridget....doesn't Christmas and another New Year get us all like this...we remember times past and people who are no longer with us and melancholy sets in... we are all sending positive thoughts your way.
I was going to post this on sayings but maybe it will help
Lord, behold our family here assembled Give us peace, gaiety and the quiet mind Give us strength to encounter that which is to come; that we may be brave in peril, Constant in all changes of fortune And that down to the gates of death we may be loyal and love one another.
Love Jan

It seems ages since I piped up on here
Beautiful but crisp morning in London - although it has been pretty windy and wet during the night, we are promised more bad stuff later and some snow, but London escapes a lot of the worst stuff.
OH has persuaded me to have Christmas PROPERLY this year. We have a brand new tree some love decorations and even made our own Christmas cake (which OH is enjoying feeding [too often]). Two stocking which are already getting full of presents - just some food items remain to be purchased (hopefully mince pies) - being vegetarian we don't have a turkey, but have intentions on a nut roast with all the trimmings including Yorkshire puddings!!
We don't do cards at Christmas - although it is a bit ironic that one of OH's hobbies is making home-made cards!!! I forgot, we even have some fancy crackers haven't had those at home since I was about ten years old.
Better news about the twins - thank goodness - and I hope everyone is keeping well
Bridget - I can understand how you feel - just get back to your normal self as soon as you can - I am praying for you and everyone else in the best possible way.
Candles and prayers where required Back on here again soon Gerard <3 :-)
