Good morning Bridget and everybody, A bit of cloud today but not to worry will maybe get more housework done NOT. At this time of year particularly, the mornings are the best part of the day as the heat from the previous day has dissipated and we start afresh, OH busy painting the reijas (window grills) before the paint dries on the brush and I am just thinking about getting the breakfast ready. So glad you had time with your son & girlfriend, hope they enjoy Barcelona. Speak soon, Frances

Frances
Your message came up whilst I was replying o others. I know exactly what you mean about the paint drying on the brush!! in the heat. The Pool guys have arrived, they come once a fortnight to make sure evrything is working as it should and the water is sparkling in the sunshine. Oh and self at respective computers and son and girkfriiend still in the land of nod. They both work hard so they deserve the rest. They spent the first day and night with eldest son in Barca on their way down and tonight he is taking them to an excellent restaurant,,,,, anyway how can one not enjoy Barcelona.
Hope your day continues to be a good one

Good morning everyone,
I hope that you all have a pleasant day and hopefully some laughter and fun!
Th sky here is not as blue as recently and there are clouds in the sky and they are not all the little white fluffy clouds but rather more omminous than that. It is warm outside and becoming oppressive so maybe we are due for some heavy rain today. It would clear the air and help water the garden so we just have to wait and see. Army son and girlfriend left last night and went back to Barcelaona to have a meal with older brother and by now they should be at the airport ready to go back to UK.
OHs youngest son is arriving tomorrow for a week...he is the father of three children from 9yrs down to 2 yrs. We were hoping that they would also be with him but their mother has changed her telephone number, and stopped all contcat. As they are not yet divorced I keep advising him to go to a solicitor but it is difficult because he still has is own mother in the UK and there are some mental health problems as well. Both he and his wife have Bi Polar diisease as does his older brother and his mother.
Now when they take their medication everything is fine but if not.....
Thankfully the older son keeps to his regime is happily married and there are no probs. I do understand why the mother may have been advised not to allow the children out of England but she could have told him earlier as the tickets were bought in March. Oh well this is going to need its' own five minutes of reflection today. Maybe some of you who read this could also send some positive thoughts.
Kingkeith I shall think of you today, looking at grave yards for other people, my folk are in Wiltshire at Mere so if anyone would like to look there for me...Have a good day Keith you sound a very positive person helping others.
Jenxx, how did the clean up go after the wedding? Your excitement and pride and glee came through your message very strongly , you sound so very happy take care
Dizzi, Now do not spill any coffee today, I am trying to picture you in my thought drinking coffe in a very calm manner and not spilling a drop!
have a good day.
Jet and Joe the dogs I keep mentioning have just let me know that they need their walk so I better be positive for them as well and take them for a walk. We do not go far as they have the run of the garden but they do like sniffing around. In the autumn and winter we take them to the Rocky end of the beaches and they simply love running into and swimming in the sea.
Bye for now everyone and I hope to hear from some of you.. Take care
Bridget

Afternoon Bridget, Sorry to be so late in posting but have been busy preparing for meal with friends to-morrow, doing Ham cooked in coke courtesy of Nigella. It is great either hot or cold, decided we would have it cold with lots of salads and crusty bread. Hopefully we will be out in the garden but thought I'd better clean the house just in case the unthinkable happens and it rains. The Spanish weatherforecast last night, Friday, said we would be getting lots of rain, we haven't as yet what about you? Frances

Good morning everyone and my apologies for being so late...I have been busy working out how to invite someone to view my tree on Ancestry OK, so I know most of you will know all this but I have to fail at something!!! Jenxx 370 paving stones.....did you move them all and do the shopping and dinner and care for the grandchildren ......I award you a medal and an extra thought in my quiet time..
Dizz you intrigue me...I would love to see your work and where do those sudden moments of inspiration come from...I shall certainly add you to my my thoughts and contemplation time
Mummo I have never been to Weymouth I shall look it up. I hope that the weather was good and that you enjoyed your day
Frances I have that Nigella book with the Ham recipe but have never tried it, you may have inspired me...Re the weather...yes we have been forcast rain and storms but so far they haven't reached here. Yesterday morning the sky looked heavy and it was rather cloudy and we thought "at last it will rain and clear the air" BUT as the morning went on the clouds disappeard and the sun came out and we recorded 41c in the garden.....even Jet and Jo were to lethargic to be bothered to do anything other than layaround and drink water.
During the night I was woken by lightening and rolls of thunder..now I simply love thunderstorms especially when you can watch them over the sea...White wine" comes to mind..so went on balcony with said white one and watched the amazing lightening and heard the long rolls of the thunder. The sky over the Castle became very dark and the sea was many hues of blue BUT.....ABSOLUTELY NO RAIN. Now we really need the rain for the resevoirs etc but....maybe it will be a wet autunm or winter..
Right now as I look out of the window there are a lot of grey clouds but every now and again the sun tries to break through the temp is around 25c so not so bad and there is a slight breeze.
I am ready now for my quiet time when I think of you all and simply let my wonder...I have a concern about my OHs son who is coming to see us on Monday for a week,,,,it is a complictaed story but I am worried about his mood and health. so he will have some special moments...I have posted details about this elsewhere as this board is really my little Haven
Enjoy your day everyone and remember to have a few minutes of your own quiet time.
Hope to hear from you all again
Bridget

Hi Bridget, Can't seem to make up its mind today, lots of cloud, then some sun, then more grey cloud. Have until 4 to decide in which part of the garden we are going to eat...under the gazebo in case it rains or the top of the garden under a tree, my favourite spot..decisions decisions. Have to say we didn't have the thunder and lightening, perhaps would feel fresher if we did. Take care Frances

Hi Frances
he sky is turning grey, the clouds are gathering but the are still large areas of bleu, there is a slight breeze and the temp has dropped, not a lot but nevertheless it is cooler, maybe just maybe we will get some rain...I think we would all be comfortable afterwards.
Enjoy your meal, jsut as I was about to pess the send button out came the sunshine....
Keith, now do not overdo it with laying the paving stones

Thanks Keith, I hope the eye test is OK. Had mine last December and sight not so good so two new pairs of specs as I was working at the time it made sense. One pair of frames free but the cost of varifocals is OUCH< OUCH!! Well hopefully they will last a while. Today it is overcast and we are hoping for rain, that will clear the air and move the dust, and then we can go back to sunshine. The sea is not quite black and I think about the fishermen who leave between 04.30 and 05.00 five mornings a week. I wouldn't want to be one of them out there in a storm so must add them today to my contemplation. Therir work does enable us to go down around 17.00 hrs and buy fresh fish and it is delicious. Most is auctioned to the restaurants but always there is plenty to buy. No scales as we would use in UK, the ladies are dressed in black from head to toe and weigh the fish in wooden scales and literally use stones to weigh the fish....very strange at first!!
How is that book coming along!
Have a good day everyone
Bridget
