Ah Rose, you have my sympathy! Teenagers - Messier than toddlers & speech more incomprehensible! xx

At 72 she MIGHT just be able to cope with a baby......at 85 I think a 13 year old might be fatal lol....

Rose, 51 with a 13 year old ;) xx

Hi all, only just joining in as still reeling from the ignorance/stupidity (or sadly mental health) of that 72 yr old!
Did anyone else notice that she kept saying 'want a BABY' - not even 'a child' as most thinking women would. - Let alone the natural progression to small person.
I also thought it was unfair to include the American lady who had twins at 54 - Nature can do that, after all! She had a much younger & very supportive partner, who wanted children & she was experienced.
If the 72yr old looked more capable, I'd loan her my 3yr old Dynamo grandson for a week - even my capable daughter is shattered at day's end.

Whe I'm 72 I want to enjoy myself!

I had my youngest at 41, was far more laid back with her than with my sons at 28 & 29. Thoroughly enjoyed it, learned a lot from the older children although I did worry about being mistaken for her nan at the school gates. "Get on" with her and her friends, they can talk to me. Her friends love coming here because I cook meals and talk "to" them instead of "at" them.

I am also the Grandmother of a 16 month old, she comes to me 3 times a week, when I am not working but her Mum is. I love her dearly and love having her but boy am I glad when she goes home. lol. Toy boxes rule. as do bananas and crayons. lol.

This woman is only 5 years younger than my Mum. No way. She AND her doctors need their heads testing!!

BOB..........I gave Birth to both of my children by caesarian sections.
It doesn't matter which way they come out .You still give birth.I get your meaning but think you could upset some people by that remark.

" Give Birth"

It may well be that the end of term will result in a caesarian section.
she may Carry, for a while but to MY mind That is NOT giving birth........the natural way.

to those that C sections were necessary, I apologise, but I think you might get my meaning.

Taken her a while though Helen.

I remember wanting a child - but I was in my twenties so I had one then ...

I think someone said earlier on this thread that we are in very much an "I want it and I want it now" society. I feel that this is a step too far really.

I think she just has the feeling of need to be pregnant and give birth.Maybe it is some kind of innate desire .

But Marion - the child won't be hers anyway ... I mean, she'll carry it (maybe) but it will be donated. So, if she has money why cannot she "adopt" a child? If Madonna can do it then anyone with enough cash can do it too surely? That way at least she will be providing a home for a child plus not putting wear and tear on her body.

Bizarre.

Jill
She cant get it done here,so thats her next option.Go abroad and have it done there. She will just carry it and keep it. Thats what she wants...I think.
She did say on gmtv she has a little bit of money, but...how much I dont know.

Agree Gail

I'm 52 and no way would I want a child now ...

I have to agree with LancsLass.

This would be the ideal solution.

Have we assertained why this individual, only feels now that she wants to be a mother?

I am sorry, hoping not to offend peeps, but the female body goes through the menopause, for a reason.

Being 51, I love being a gran with visits from my grandkids, aged 4 and almost 6. I have them for short stays, as they are enjoyable, but tiring.

If that is how that I feel, how, truthfully, can a woman 20 years my senior, realistically, believe, that she can provide for her baby's needs, as (he/ she) progresses, and grows older.

I've just watched the you-tube clip.

I'm a bit puzzled here as she is looking for an egg-donor - as well as the other sort of donor (!) - so, is it that she wants a pregnancy or a child? If she wants a child that won't actually be hers then why can't she adopt one?

Perhaps she should volunteer and look after orphaned children, that might fill the gap or babysitting duties!

Having one of her own- just aint right!

Helen I thought the same.
Looking at some of the other older mothers on the programme i watched, she seemed a lot older.

(Have deleted my thread on this subject ) and will join this.
This Lady is disaluginal (sp) She is not thinking in what I would call the normal sense. She JUST WANT'S A BABY. She just said I think...It is a baby I'm after !!
I actually feel a bit sorry for her ,as I think she has a Psychological problem.

Should be a limit for the sake of baby and mother.
I know it must be very hard to not be able to have any but...
