Good night Tec. Thanks for the kind words about the flowers. I'm still waiting for the ones which Allan sent me. At least, I know they will have a perfume - but what kind, I'm not sure. |

Sorry again for disappearing but I had a phone call and was chatting for ages. It would seem you've all gone so I wish my Aussie friends a great Sunday - hope it stays dry for you Berona - and our friends on the other side of the world pleasant dreams. |

Brown must have been the colour for demob suits - my father wore his and wore his and wore his - it came out for every wedding and funeral. It took my poor mother years and years to get him to purchase a new one. He always was thrifty and what he couldn't do with left overs. He could make a rice pudding last and last add another egg one night add some more milk the next. When he was in his eighties, I was hanging out his bedsocks on the line and they were just all darns - I don't think there was an original bit of sock there except for the bit at the top. |

G'day Persephone....there is nothing wrong in being thrifty. |

Berona, at least you only had to adjust the length of your slacks, not the waist! |

I hate the days when the clocks alter. I have just been round changing the times on everything. Some of them are so complicated, especially the timer on the boiler. It doesn't help that it was installed tucked away in a corner under the boiler,so it is just about impossible to get to. |

You are right Allan - we have always coped whatever the situation. I had hand me downs and my kids had hand me downs.... but I see in our paper today that the recession has hit some youngsters hard as they are getting less pocket money. One young chap reckons he will be in for a windfall when it is all over and is keeping tabs on how much his mum will owe him. |

Well, Allan - I'm afraid you're right about me not having to alter the waist, but that's because these particular slacks were bought when I was at my heaviest and are a size larger than the ones I returned to when I lost weight - but no, I didn't have to alter the waist - and I should have needed to!! |

Oh Pat - I was just about to log off. His name is Stieg Larsson. He died suddenly in 2004. He was only 50. Enjoy the rest of your day. |

This feels like a very long day to me. I normally get up at 7-30am at this time of year. However, because we put the clocks back an hour, and my silly dog was confused, he came bounding into the bedroom at 6-30am, insisted on thumping me until in exasperation I gave in and got up. |

Good evening/morning everyone. It's RAINING! Light but steady rain has fallen all night and still coming down, although forecast for clearing later. |
