Bye to Alison and Linda....

...and a good morning to Sue.

I had just popped onto another board and this thread explodes with posts.

Please don't think me rude if it takes me sometime to acknowledge you all, I just seem to be slowing up mentally these days!

Sue,
I would not dare imply such a thing, for you do indeed radiate beauty through our screens for all to see, you do look especially radiant this morning.
My face is my face - it has taken me a long time, and a lot of living to get this face, and I'm happy with it, especially as I don't have to look at it.
When I do catch site of myself in a morror, my father looks back at me, and he would be 95 now - need I say more.

For morror - read horror

Tec,

I often think that when we look in mirrors, we should reflect on life!

If I saw my father staring back at me in the mirror, I would die of fright...he's been dead for over 25 years!

Allan,
My life is definately reflected in my face,
and my father has been gone 14 years, so yes, it is frightening

Berona,
Put that duster away, and come back,
Where do you go to?

I see my father everytime I look at my brother. I have a photo of my paternal grandmother and I look like her. I love looking at old photos and seeing the family resemblances. I have a photo of my paternal great grandparents and one of my nephews is the image of a great uncle.

Tec,

I think that Berona is like a majestic Hawk, or Kestrel, hovering over the screen and then swooping on any injudicious comment that we make, as though we were the startled prey

Tec - your life is what gives character to your face. You've told us about some of your life so I'm thinking you must have a wonderful face. I'm also thinking that your personality would shine through too and if that's the case then everyone on here would have lovely, interesting faces.

Sue, it's not just with photos

My daugher and my niece could be taken for sisters and my son and one of his cousins would also pass for brothers....it's probably a good job my bother and I were thousands of miles apart at the time of their respective births!

Sue,
It is interesting that faces and features pass down the generations.
We have a photo of OHs mother taken in 1912 when she 5 yrs old.
My OH resembles her father, so missed her mothers looks. But it came back strongly in my daughter, and now also my grand daughter now 15 yrs, who looks very like her Gt Grandmother.

Ha Ha.....
My face has never been described as wonderful,
most people would take one look, and think,
"My Goodness, that face has been around the block a few times"
and sadly they would be right.....but I earned it.

Allan,
I think you are right about Berona,
what can we say to lure her down to pounce on us, the unsuspecting prey.

We were sent a video years ago of OH's uncle and aunt's 50th wedding anniversary. Our daughter would have been in her early 20's and all she could say as she watched various family members was "there's me". We too were amazed at the family resemblances. My daughter is very like OH's mother who in turn took after her father. They have very strong features and the women age very well. My sister in law is 68 and although she looks her age she is still a very attractive woman. I think my daughter is beautiful - I am a little biased I know:-))

Actually, I haven't really thought about my face but I must say that I prefer looing out of it rather than at it..not a pretty sight

Tec, we would have to use Sue as bait.....but as my ears are still ringing from the last cuff she gave me, I'm not that game
