I've got lot's of tales of Great Aunt Amanda . She used to send weird parcels to my Grandfather through the post . He was very much into Amateur Dramatics and she would send things that the Ladies had let her have ( ie jewelery made from black french glass etc ) and clothing such as velvet capes etc , these parcels would arrive roughly wrapped in newspaper and brown paper , held together with savage victorian hat pins!! Apparently my Nan would be heard grumberling " that mad old woman has sent him another blasted parcel "..........lol |

I think all women are the stronger sex when it comes to family life we are the back bone...and before anyone says owt I dont mean all men are useless well..if they can iron they ar'nt or every women I know seems to be apart from one couple whom we met on our last jollies.....they were in there late 50's early 60's and the look of shock on her face when I dared to disagree with her OH and him I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel...lol |

I have one her family travelled to America as pioneers they went on a waggon train to cross the plain she found the journey very hard so one day she found an hollowed out tree she hid in it two days til the found her lol another story I heard bout her was that ever mornin she used to get out of bed backwards and walk to the bathroom she thought that by doing this one day she would meet a man ~ one day it worked she bumped into a man lol 50 years her senior {my type of gal} she later married him! |

And why would spending 2 days in a hollowed out tree be better than a wagon train where there was food and water? |
