Hi all ~~~~
I am still around. I have my ups and downs, mostly the latter but occasionally bounce back. This morning I was feeling miserable as I had not slept well, woke at 2 and couldnt get back to sleep for almost 3 hours, then OH brought a cuppa in at 5.30 and again at 6.30. When I got up and looked at my emails, oh joy! there was one from somebody in America that I had tried several times to contact 3 yrs ago. I was sure we were related, and sure enough she is my 3rd cousin once removed. It certainly brightened up my day to finally hear from her. Perhaps that is why she didnt reply 3 yrs ago, saving it up to make me happy.
Must go, want to try to get a nap now I have finished lunch, hoping that OH doesnt disturb me.

Got Maries photos what a glamour puss she is...but tried to send mine to her and got a warning that my security check , wont allow it to be sent . so I will have to get them scanned and post to her, four times I have tried ,so I give up.... did Marie tell you if she got yours ,Mo? talk to you later folks just going out...

Huia, I do hope you can get some rest, you must be so weary, thinking and praying for you both always....

I'm off now to the Hospital for my cancer check up. I'm beginning to know every dept now as of late seem to be up there more than at home LOL

Maria can you send me your photo.....I'll send you mine..LOL

Hope this weather does not make you all feel as miserable as it does me !

Hello all, I heard you Jean, so i'm a glamour puss well I dont mind as I do like to dress up for my childrens weddings and on the odd occasion that I go out they are few & far between these days and unlike when I was young I dont mind having my photo taken I will send you some of my grandchildren later. June I will send you my E-mail addy again.
Sylvia I live in Bathurst New south Wales.It is very cold here in winter,thank you for asking, apart from the cold its a good place to live as the Blue Montains are only 90mins away, and Sidney approx. 3hrs away.

Hello Girls,

Not a very nice day here in Derbyshire. Did the weekly shop a day early as we have visitors tomorrow. So had to get a few extras in. We don't see them often because they live in North Wales, so really looking forward to seeing them.

Marilyn, hope all goes well at the hospital for you. I'll look in later to see how you got on.

Jean, I'm still trying to get a couple of scrapbook pages done. Every time I go to make a start, we either get visitors, or a telephone call or have to go out unexpectantly. At this rate I'm not going to get the scrapbook done in time for November. I think I may have to shut myself in a room with a
Do Not Disturb notice on the door.

Marie hope all is well with you and your family. Nice to know that you are a glamour puss-- wish I was one, but no hope of that now. Ha, Ha.

Huia, hope you are managing to get some sleep. Isn't there a respite centre near you that perhaps your husband can go to, for perhaps a week
or two, so that you can have a break. Someone I know, goes every so often
so that it gives her husband a bit of a break.

I must go and start preparing for my visitors tomorrow.

Huia,what wonderful news for you,to receive so unexpectedly. I found my cousin through this site as well. We lost contact back in 1964,when I got married. It was lovely to hear that her mum is still alive,and doing well for herself,even though she is well in her nineties.
I'm thinking you will have to tie your OH to the bed,so you can get some sleep.lol Is he due to go into respite care yet? If they would only take him for a week,it would give you a chance to catch up with yourself. I do feel for
you love.
How did you get on at the hospital Marilyn? I hope it went well for you.
Jean is right,our Marie is an elegant lady. I felt quite dowdy against her
photo.
Mind you we have got lovely people on here,in looks and in other ways.
Sallie,you are such a busy lady. More visitors expected. How long are your friends going to be with you. Have a lovely time anyway.

Just looking in to see how everyone is.

I hope Marilyn got on alright at the hospital.

Mo, our visitors are only staying one night this time. We haven't seen them for a while, so you can imagine all the talking we will be doing tomorrow. They are due to arrive about twelve, just in time for lunch.

Huia, isn't it lovely when you find a cousin, no matter how distant. I have found a few distant cousins through GR. Also found a third cousin in America a couple of years ago. We still keep in touch with each other.

Hoping all is well with Sue, Debbie and Grace.

Morning All

Thank you all for asking about me ....Yes all went well and the consultant said I was out of the danger area !! and did not want to see me for another YEAR !

So the moral of the story is always get checked for Cervical Cancer as its very treatable ....I have survived ...LOL but I was NOT laughing 2yrs ago !!

Its a lovely day here in Devon today and very warm, a bit stuffy so I have opened nearly all my windows. But we have them dreaded little tiny flies well almost flies they dont fly they are like imps !!!
So tiny but they get into all picture frames and in the most wierdest places
I have got to go and make sure my sugar bowl has the lid on and anything else .

That is such good news, Marilyn, enjoy the rest of your life....
we have those pesky flies too you never can catch them , I find the only wat to swat a fly is use atowel or cloth, if you try and sneak up they always see you but never seem to see the towel....

Hello all , it is a very tired glamor puss here to-night had a terrible night could'nt sleep I got up at 8am and rang my daughter to see if she needed me thank the good lord she said no and told me to go back to bed which I did awoke at 12-30 I must have needed the sleep.
June you are a bit of a glamor puss also, I got the photo of you and J from Mo a very nice snap.

Marie, you are too kind..lol...glad you got the snap, I tried and tried but just couldnt send it, slow down girl get some rest, we cant have you tiring yourself out, but I know what its like not being able to sleep, I am getting worse, up at silly hours, then falling asleep mid afternoon....

I am still waiting to hear about my grandaughter's results. When I ask my daughter,she says she has not heard from them yet. So I suppose no news is good news.
It's still so hot here. I am going to have a nice cooling shower,in a minute.

Hi all.

I am feeling like death warmed up. I went to bed at 9.30 and tossed and turned unitl 11.30 when I got up and had half a sleeping pill. I continued to toss and turn for an hour or so and got up to take 2 panadol as I had developed a headache. I continued to toss and turn 'all night' but must have had some sleep as when I got up this morning I found OH had made himself a cuppa at some stage as his cup was on the bench and there was a half full teapot with 3 teabags in, and the milk jug on the bench - just as well it is winter here. Luckily our fireman is coming soon to take OH for a long (about 3 hour) walk soon so I will be able to sleep while they are gone. It is funny the way I can usually drop off quickly in the daytime on the settee, but even though I am dog tired at night as soon as my head hits that pillow the brain gets active.

Nope, I couldnt drop off in the 2 and half hours they were walking. I tried again after lunch but still no sleep. I will take a whole sleeping pill when I go to bed to night. I am beginning to feel jet-lagged.

Sorry to here you are having trouble sleeping Huia, I'm Ok in that dept but I have a friend thats almost the same as you, sleeps better by day than night !
She has been to the doctors numerous times,and seems to get sleeping tablets every time.
The only thing the doc's tell her to do is power walking...now at 67yrs how can a doc tell anyone to power walk at that age ?

Just to let you know I'm up the hospital AGAIN ...for my new invention of a new hearing aid ....so you wont have to raise your voice at me anymore .LOL

Poor Huia,you are really going through it again at the momenet,arn't you love. I only wish we could do something for you,but being so far away,it's an impossibility. Your OH does not seem to get so tired out as he used to,after his walks.

I hope that you and J,are o.k in this stifling weather. I had a job to sleep very well last night. It was so blooming hot,I slept on top of the covers,but still kept waking up bathed in sweat. NO NO NO, I am not sweaty betty,
even though I felt like it. Ooooops,no offence meant to any Betty's that may be looking in.
I am becoming paranoid at what I write now,and I must stop it.
I wonder how Marie,Sue,Grace,and Debbie and our Sallie are enjoying themselves.
Grace is lucky,she is down on the coast,so she will be getting the sea breeze.

J and I have just come back from a day out, we took a picnic and sat out reading in the hot sun,, bliss it seems avery long time since we did that, tried to book a hol in our fav place, but fully booked until Nov, so now looking fo a nice cottage somewhere.....

Huia, I am so sorry that you are having difficulty getting some rest, you really could do with a break., it must be so hard for you, sending love and prayers to you.....

Marilyn, I dont talk about hearing aids!!! hate the rotten things lol I have been back with mine to have the sound adjusted,but still find them too noisy so now just pop one in if the tv is on....hope yours will be fine...


Grace thats were I would like to be , beside the seaside, sea breezes and all...have a good holiday ...
