We have a Society here in Perth called the Red Hat Society and some of them do wear Purple too. They are mainly older women and they have the best time. Go out to dinners and shows and at the same time raising money for Underprivilaged Organisations. Not too keen on the red and purple that they wear but they all have good hearts.

Age is just a word. I enjoy my older age very much. I do more for myself now than I did when I was younger as the children always came first. I get lots of ME TIME now. There's plenty of life in the old girl yet lol.
When you have children you can't always afford luxuries in life. I can now. I have my hair done regularly I buy more expensive makeup and perfumes. I have plenty of clothes. Go out to restaurants quite often
Hey old age is pretty cool.

When they do finally leave home they will be ringing you saying "what you making for dinner tonight Mum" so you invite them over. They never really leave home. Like the proverbial bad penny they keep returning with many additions lol

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional..
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

I found the poem earlier and it just struck a chord.....I'm not in the first flush of youth by any means but I intend to grow old disgracefully...lol...sounds like a good organisation you've got over there, and I'm sure there must be the same here somewhere....I have a friend who comes in to the office to see me a few times a a week and she's in her 70s and she's always off somewhere, keep fit, the pub with her hubby, she has a small cleaning job and looks after her mum who is in her nineties!!!

She's fitter than I am because I'm stuck behind a desk all day...lol..
