Hi Dormouse, hope your recovering well.

Yesterday morning, just as I openned the front door a female sparrow hawk landed 25ft away on the fence opposite.
Think it was female, dark grey back & wings, meantime all of the other birds where giving out alarm calls.
It sat there for about 20secs before flying off across the gardens.
It was a nice way to start the the day.

Hi everyone

Hadn't realised this thread was still going until a little bird told me. (Not actually sure what sort of bird this particular one is - it wasn't Stevie's sparrowhawk though!)

Thought I'd better come on pronto and give an update!

Happy to report that there are no longer any noisy old ladies disturbing my sleep (for which I am eternally grateful).

I'm now feeling about 80%. Get tired very easily - though this is probably on account of looking after my dear old Dad while Mum is in hospital having her hip op. Also had my elder brother here for two days after his knee operation (they could have sent Robert Powell round and filmed an episode of Holby here, what with all the different medical cases we can offer at present!)

Interestingly, I have developed a number of unexplained bruises - I suspect that's to do with the extra Warfarin I'm taking to get rid of these clots. Just noticed a whopping bruise on my right knee. My blood went a bit too thin according to the last test, so I've had to decrease my intake of the old rat poison a little bit. Still got to steer clear of sharp implements though. lol

Mum should hopefully be home tomorrow so I'll have to get cracking with the duster and the hoover. I'm back to the docs on Monday for another check-up. Will keep you posted and will soon be back on the boards.

Luv n hugs

P.S. Shimmer, thanks for the lovely dormouse card :)))

Hi Dormouse ,
Glad you're feeling a little better, try not to do too much too soon. You won't be able to look after anyone if you have a relapse yourself.

Hi Dormouse,
So glad to see your up & about & feeling so much better.
Sounds as though the hospital could have openned its own special ward to treat you all..lol.
But seriously , I hope you're all recovering well & your mum is home soon too.

Hi D

So pleased your mum's home now, thinking of you both ... I know it's hard yet do try not to overdo it, you both need to rest up, well, as much as you can.

Guess what?! Looking out of my French doors early this morning, taking in the sunshine and more, I saw a Magpie and then it's mate appeared, both hunting for worms and more I think. Tis meant to be good luck to see two, am so crossing my fingers.

Off to do things, missing you here little sis
