Hi everyone, just to say that Dad came home yesterday afternoon, we called in just for a few minutes last night and took middle child and little one to see Granpa. He was upstairs doing his injections and when he heard little one's voice nearly ran down the stairs. All i can say is what a difference!!! He looks so well, still a little bit yellow, but goodness me the change in him already. He is nearly my old dad back, and he can moan and groan as much as he likes i don't care!!!!

It goes without saying that Mum is happy he is home, she can fuss around him all day, now doubt they will start bickering soon but hey that's what life is all about isn't it?

Many Many thanks once again for all your support and kind wishes, just to have someone to 'talk' to really helped. To say that i don't know anyone on here personally the advice you all gave me was very much appreciated. You are all stars xxxx

That's great news.
Your Dad is doing so well and I'm sure your Mum will feel better when she doesn't have to do all that travelling.

I'm sure your Dad will go from strength to strength and be able to have a better quality of life.

I had a lovely day out with my in-laws yesterday ( mentioned in my 1st post )
They coped well with a day trip to Bruges and father in law really enjoyed taking photos of the old town.
He's amazing for 91 and we are so thankful that heart surgery is enabling him to have so many extra and 'full' years.

Thank you so much everyone. Dad has been moved back into P.C.U from I.C.U, he managed to shave himself yesterday, and had something to eat, He has had a walk up and down the corridor a few times and just has a nose pipe now and not a full oxygen mask, The Doctor took the pipes out of his neck on saturday AND best of all they said he can probably come home tuesday / wednesday this week, so please all keep your fingers crossed for that.

Mum is absolutely shattered she has been to the hospital twice a day for the past week, It is a good hours drive there, By the time she gets back in the afternoon she only has an hour or so then has to go back again for evening visit. But i suppose when Dad gets home she can fuss over him til her hearts content.

Thanks again for all your kind messages of support.

Teresa.

Hi Theresa

Just looking in, I'm sure your dad will come on leaps and bounds now and everyone is different and it's only a few days since his op so he sounds like he's doing just fine.
You keep laughing girls, after all they say laughter is the best medicine and he'll be home in no time.

My regards to you and your family and to your dad

That's lovely thank you very much Frances. Mum has gone visiting again this afternoon, when she rang this morning they were going to move Dad into P.C.U around 2pm, He is getting better by the day and he is not hooked up to as many machines now which is such good news.

I forgot to add yesterday that the Nurse had Dad stood up for a few minutes and he had to march on the spot, it was really funny because she was holding his arm and steadying him, his other hand was holding onto his mask, then his pyjama bottoms were starting to fall down, so i had to hold them up, it was hilarious because he trying to tell the nurse they were falling down, but couldn't, my sister and I were absolutely in stitches, the nurse chuckled and said he was decent and not to worry. oh funny or what!

I will keep you all posted as soon as i hear anything from Mum later tonight.

Teresa.
