Leslie 'Hutch' Hutchinson - All I do is dream of you (1935)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPiOj7jzkm4&feature=related
All I do is dream of you the whole night through with the dawn, I still go on, dreamin' of you!
You're every thought, you're every thing you're every song I ever sing summer, winter, autumn an' spring!
And were there more than twenty-four hours a day they'd be spent in sweet content, dreamin' away!
When skies are gray, skies are blue morning, noon an' night time too all I do the whole day through is dream of you!
When skies are gray, skies are blue morning, noon an' night time too all I do the whole day through is dream of you!

With the Starlight Symphony the orchestra are seated on a stage in the old cricket pavilion, under cover, while the choir are seated on the bleachers below/in front of them. The orchestra conductor has his back to us and we cannot see him so we have our own conductor who conducts in time with the orchestra conductor to keep us in step, otherwise we would be always a fraction behind them. We have to ignore the sound from the loudspeakers scattered throughout the grounds as the sound reaches us later than we make it. It has been a great experience. Huia.

I am singing in the Startlight Symphony in the Auckland Domain on the 21st of this month. It will be my last time in it. I have been doing it since it started in 1994. The first year there were 1200 choir members! Last year just over 700. We are doing a Maori song; Dies Irae from Mozarts Requiem; Hallelujah from Beethovens Mount of Olives; Polovtsian Dances from Borodins Prince Igor; Jerusalem; Pomp & Circumstance - Land of Hope and Glory; 1812 Overture with laser lights, fireworks and several army cannons. That is always the highlight of the evening. The orchestra are also doing Vivaldis Four Seasons with violinist soloists, a piece from Starlight Express with a couple of singers, other pieces from musical shows and operas, Bohemian Rhapsody (we sang that one year); The Dam Busters March; and Brooke Fraser will be doing several of her pieces (I hadnt heard of her but I am told she is a 'sort of' pop singer.) The evening finishes with our Nat. Anthem and Now is the Hour. The choir has its first practice this Saturday, another next Thurs night, dress rehearsal on the Fri night then the concert the next night. I hope the dress rehearsal is not as wet and windy as last year. It was horrendous. And the concert was postponed until the Sunday. It is a free concert. The domain grounds are always full of people, several hundred thousand of them. Some bring folding chairs to sit on, others sit on the ground, or just wander around. Quite a night. I will probably miss it in future but with my husband getting Alzheimers I just cant continue. Huia.

Volare, Dean Martin ... listening to this at the moment and luvin it!
Pienso que un sueno parecido no volvera mas Y me pintaba las manos y la cara de azul Y me improviso el viento rapido me llevo Y me hizo a volar en el cielo infinito
Volare, oh oh Cantare, oh oh oh oh Nel blu dipinto di blu Felice di stare lassu
Y volando, volando feliz Yo me encuentro mas alto Mas alto que el sol Y mientras que el mundo Se aleja despacio de mi Una musica dulce Se ha tocada solo para mi
Volare, oh oh Cantare, oh oh oh oh Nel blu dipinto di blu Felice di stare lassu
Pienso que un sueno parecido no volvera mas Y me pintaba las manos y la cara de azul Y me improviso el viento rapido me llevo Y me hizo a volar en el cielo infinito

Placido Domingo - Granada - Impromptu Performance 4

Hope you enjoy Merlin, I am. :) xxx
English: Frank Sinatra, Spanish: Placido Domingo
Granada
Granada, I’m falling under your spell, And if you could speak, what a fascinating tale you would tell. Of an age the world has long forgotten, Of an age that weaves a silent magic in granada today. The dawn in the sky greets the day with a sigh for granada. For she can remember the splendor that once was granada. It still can be found in the hills all around as I wander along, Entranced by the beauty before me, Entranced by a land full of flowers and song. When day is done and the sun touch the sea in granada, I envy the blush of the snow-clad tierra novada, Soon it will welcome the stars While a thousand guitars play a soft carbinera. Then moonlit granada will live again, The glory of yesterday, romantic and gay. (musical interlude) And soon it will welcome the stars While a thousand guitars play a soft carbinera. Then moonlit granada will live again, The glory of yesterday, romantic, gay granada.
And these are the spanish lyrics as sung by placido domingo:

Keith West - Grocer Jack (Excerpt from a Teenage Opera)
2,3,4 Counts the days into years Yes 82 brings many fears Yesterday's laughter turns to tears His arms, his legs don't feel so strong His heart is weak there's something wrong Opens windows in despair Trying to breath in some fresh air His conscience cries get on your feet Without you Jack the town cant eat Grocer Jack grocer Jack get off your back Go into town don't let them down Oh no no Grocer Jack grocer Jack get off your back Go into town don't let them down Oh no no The people that live in the town Don't understand He's never been known to miss his round Its 10 o'clock the housewife's yell When Jack turns up we'll give him hell Husbands moan at breakfast tables No milk no eggs no marmalade labels Mothers send the children out to Jacks house To scream and shout Grocer Jack grocer Jack get off your back Come into town don't let us down Oh no no Grocer Jack grocer Jack get off your back Come into town don't let us down Oh no no Its Sunday morning bright and clear Lovely flowers decorate a marble square People cry and walk away Think about the fateful day Now they wish they'd given Jack More affection and respect The little children dressed in black Don't know what's happened to old Jack Grocer Jack grocer Jack Is it true what mummy says You wont come back Oh no no Grocer Jack grocer Jack Is it true what mummy says You wont come back Oh no no Grocer Jack grocer Jack Is it true what mummy says You wont come back Oh no no Grocer Jack grocer Jack Is it true what mummy says You wont come back Oh no no Grocer Jack grocer Jack Is it true what mummy says You wont come back Oh no no
