Reminds me of Saturday moring at the Flicks when i was awee lad, David Crocket, king of the wild frontier

suzian Report 6 Dec 2008 20:41

Was the mark of Zorro around then, too?

I used to take a couple of bottles to the Saturday afternoon matinee instead of one shilling!

Running Bear Report 6 Dec 2008 20:54

suz, you need to explain more about your bottles, i'm confused

suzian

suzian Report 6 Dec 2008 20:58

we were allowed mto the Saturday afternoon matinee for either (a) sixpence or (b) two bottles

Brown ale bottles at the time had a three pence deposit attached.

Easier to ask hung-over dad for two of last night's empty bottles than to ask for sixpence
