Ann so sorry to hear about your Mom and do hope she continues without pain. If the morphine stops working then they can use Diamorphine or Fentanyl patches (replace patches every 72 hours).
I worked in a hospital (pharmacy) and there was a Macmillan ward so am aware of the various pain relief there is and there are quite a few really.

I will be thinking of you and your lovely Mom.

So glad your Mum got such pleasure from the dog's visit and is sounding much chirpier. Hope this can continue and she manages to get some enjoyment out of life again.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

Mum had a reasonable night, and has been tempted by more toast and horlicks this morning. She has a little pain, so they are trying another drug alongside her present medication. She tires so easily, so we are having to keep visiting to short periods, but she is always pleased to see her visitors. I think yesterday 6 seperate people from church went to see her, along with my husband and then myself, it is too much really.

God bless
Ann

It's very hard to get a happy medium with visiting folk in hospital, but lovely that people care enough to visit, maybe you will have to get them to call you and ask first how many people are going in.

Hope your Mum continues to be able to eat a bit and be happy to see folk.

Yesterday there was a Christmas Fair at the hospice and mum being mum did too much! she was fine when I left her last night, but had a bit of an upset and collapsed last night, her "old" doctor had her on blood pressure reducing tablets and her blood pressure is dangerously low, and she has to be weaned off them, she is getting there, but she did too much yesterday, she wanted to support the hospice, as it relies on donations!
So today she has been grounded, bed rest, until her blood pressure is more stable, but she was in fantastic spirits today, with no pain or sickess, just frustration of being bed-bound. Her sister camme with me today, and we were delighted with her.
My aunt had a few tears on the way home in the car, out of pure releif, she had expected her to have deteriorated since she last saw her, so I am so pleased.

Please keep up with the prayers and they are working and so needed
love to you all from myself and mum
