That's lovely Rose......I've only got one or two old letters that my Grandfather sent my Nan but they too have snippets of family info in them.
Apparently my G.Grandmother must have had a terribly loud voice and never stopped chatting......now I understand where I got it from.......lol

my mum was a hoarder of letters Amanda...luckily, as many gave me clues to family which have helped with my tree :)

Getting there slowly thanks Caz x

Snap Amanda, I do tend to write 'epic' letters also - particularly to my rellies in Oz ... we email in between letters, but I still love to get her airmails :))

That's right Rose.........you can tell things about people from their style of hand writing.

I have hundreds of old letters from over the years, stuffed in draws.....but I can't bring myself to throw any of them away.

Hi Amanda ~~~

I do also feel that you sometimes get something from a hand written letter, a sense of the person more .

As much as I like e-mails and cyber communication I still feel that a real hand written letter is the best.
I tend to write "epic" letters myself 7 or 8 pages......lol

I still write letters but less frequently, and mainly to older relatives and friends of the family.....

don't do texting, though after a 5 hour phone call from a mate the other night am seriously considering it lol

but it does worry me a bit that the art of conversation in person might be dying rather....
