Dear Barbara I will style you hair to save you from the shame

Of going shopping with a bag to cover what remains

Of what was once your flowing locks and oh you did look regal

but now they whisper here she comes
It Barbara the Bald Eagle

I forgive you sweet Maria
For plotting the end of our Jim
I know I felt the same
At the very first sight of him

But I'd never hurt a spider
They eat the flies you know
Now they're a thing I really hate
We all know where they go!!

So next time you see a creature
Here's a lesson for us all
They're all here with a purpose
With room for us one and all

Barbara my friend
I hang my head in shame
tis only fear that makes me plot
for Jim a sticky end

LadyBarbara Report 20 Nov 2008 10:05

Oh Maria, how could you say such a thing
You wouldn't be squashing a spider
You'd be squashing our Jim

Just think, he might have a family
To bring up, have you thought
He might have a wife somewhere
Who loves him with all her heart

There may be baby spiders
Awaiting him at home
They may live in my garden
Somewhere near the gnome

So think again sweet Maria
You really mustn't fret
You needn't squash my spider
Not our Jim, not yet

xx

Maria

Maria Report 19 Nov 2008 22:42

That Jim is very lucky
to have found Barbara, who's so plucky
If he'd wandered into my garden room
I'd have got my boys to squash him -
and I don't care about rhyming now, I want the spider
DEAD

My secret pet is not a louse
I wouldn't let him in my house
But in my garden room outside
Under a beanbag I found a surprise
I lifted it to clean the floor
And nearly run out of the door

A spider, oh as big as he could be
Was sat there, staring up at me
I didn't panic, not at first
I really was in shock
I just stood there paralysed
As I tried to take stock

Should I run and make the door
Should I faint upon the floor
No I thought, you must be brave
And suddenly a scream I gave
Oh hubby dear
Please get in here
And come remove this thing
This spider is so big and hairy
It looks just like our Jim

So hubby came and had a look
Was going to squash it with a book
But I looked down into it's eyes
And suddenly with some surprise
My heart went out to our Jim
I just laid the beanbag back on him
And so I don't move it any more
I just sweep around the floor
I've got a pet spider his name is Jim

YOUR SECRET PET.

There's a mouse in your house
or a spider or a louse
who wants to be your pet
tho you haven't met it, yet

If mine is a mouse
I'll make it a little house
and feed it cheese and bread
and pat it on it's head

If mine is a spider
I'd rather not know
cos I'm terrified of 'em
I don't mind admitting so.

If mine is a louse
I'll pass it to my spouse
He's a sucker for an ugly mug
that's why he married me!

Go find your secret pet
and give it lots of love
no matter if it's a frog or a bug
or a little turtle dove

Oh Sir Knight
I have a bird ...
Indeed it is a Kite ...
If you whistle very sweetly
It will whisper
How to free me!

LadyBarbara

LadyBarbara Report 19 Nov 2008 14:33

I have a little dragon
Whose name is Leopold
Daily he has a little game
With those knights, so big and bold

He guards a very fair maiden
Shimmers is her name
He locks her in a tower
To help him with his game

The knights upon their horses appear
To see the maiden who they fear
Is trapped up in the tower
By the dastardly Leopold

Oh please Sir Knight oh could you please
Find your way to rescue me
The door is there, oh can you see
If you could only find the key

So while Sir Knight hunts around
Leopold creeps up, without a sound
Then all at once, with a mighty roar he does emit
A fire, well, just a smit

A quick scorch up the buttocks he gives
And fair Shimmers, her laugh just abounds
Sir Knight, he runs off pretty quick
Scorched, well just a little bit

My dear little cat
With a sweet personality ...
Oh my word
Tis a real calamity.

Can you believe it ...
Bedroom door shut tight
She used her claws
With all her might ...

My poor carpet
Ripped to shreds
At the entrance to the door ...
Oh gosh, good grief
Tis beyond belief
A dog who thinks he is a mole
And now a cat
Who really could wear
The Mad Hatter's hat!

Oh Cass you dear little soul
So you think you are a mole
Digging your way down under
It's no flipping wonder
Your reputation is in shreds

ShimmsRedRoseAndMistletoe

ShimmsRedRoseAndMistletoe Report 19 Nov 2008 10:30

Well ...
Our Cass
He digs such holes
You would think
He lived with a team of moles.

Oh my word
My garden!
Pardon
Me ....
What once was a beautiful scene ..
Appears to the naked eye
To be
A mass of holes
Where Cass the mole
Digging his way
To Australia
All in one day
Has been!

This little old thread just keeps on going strong
Even though some say it's all wrong
They may point out the error of our ways
But it helps to while away the days
So come on peeps tell it all
An ode to your pet, you can have a ball
Don't be put off by some sad old folk
Who can't even take a joke
Take away the doom and gloom
And bring some laughter to our room.

(chat-room) that is xx

Oh Barbara my dear dear friend,
My heart you will help mend ...
And if by chance
A magic wand you should locate
This way do please it send ...
Cos I would hug you
And call you my dear mate!

He is such a norti doggie
Not at all like my dear moggie,
A sweeter pussy cat you'll not find
Even though when she walks
She wiggles her behind!

Oh lol, pmsl! :) xxx

LadyBarbara Report 18 Nov 2008 12:35

This dog it sounds quite naughty
To chew all Shimmers things
Good job she can hide out of sight
The fingers with her rings
Because she couldn't type all day
And chat to all her mates
If doggy chewed her fingers
And left her with only eight

okay I know but it rhymes :))

ShimmsRedRoseAndMistletoe Report 18 Nov 2008 12:01

We have a dog
Well he's not mine
He likes to chew my things,
I'm touching wood,
Tis the top of my head
That he won't find my rings.

Oh Taff, you are so clever
Rhyming, painting too
But most of all you're kind hearted
That so shines out of you

You have so many friends on here
Who were all so happy too
When you saved that foxy lady
Who'd be gone, if not for you

And so this award I present to you
The love from all of your friends
Keep this award real close to your heart
It's from me, your friend, this ageing tart

Taff

Taff Report 18 Nov 2008 11:43

I helped a lady fox this year
that really was quite ill
glad to say,she had no fear
As harmings not my will

She now plays with her little cubs
and visits me quite often
as she knows, her I will love
cos I,me not quite that rotten.
