Harpstrings Report 1 Oct 2008 19:49

I do sometimes. Have had pudding today, stewed apple and custard -all homemade and quick and easy.

Sometimes it might just be a jam sandwich -something sweet. lol

Kit Kat bars (I have the single chunky one, he has the one that comes in little break-off pieces).

Unless he's bought Hagen Daaz strawberry ice cream or 7-11 bakery brownies.

Apparently there's nothing makes you want dessert so much as being diagnosed with type I diabetes.

I do make a rather decent extremely low carb cheesecake using flavoured sugarless jelly powder and cottage cheese ... but it ain't quite the same thing.

And that Spenda stuff, tried baking with that, and bleeaaaah. Rescued me from baking, anyhow.

I'll take one of those homemade apple pies, if they're on offer.

*puffs and pants* Can't keep up with you Hayley LOL

I dont' have afters at home, OH being diabetic he doesn't get tempted to sneak in the fridge when I'm not looking, though I sometimes sneak a treat in that I just KNOW he wont' eat LOL

So If I'm out for a meal, say with the girls from work, then I make the most of it and nab the cheesecake or profiteroles or double choc gateux PMSL

Oh...with cream of course!

Forgot to mention, if my son comes for lunch of a weekend, with the family, then he expects a fruit crumble and custard! There is never any left when he's been here, he'll have several helpings of his mums crumble...

TW -- want my sugarless jello cottage cheese cheesecake recipe?

I'll have to do one first to remember how it goes ...

You can also do it with plain gelatin and, say, cocoa, or lemon juice with fresh fruit on top. It ain't Dunn's (best cheesecake ever, Montreal deli that's now closed), but it ain't bad for somebody who wants dessert without the carbs.

Hayley my son is 28 and will never grow out of puds.

Proper old fashioned cooking is what my boy likes. Just bought my eldest grandaughter her first cookbook for Christmas so daddy will get spoilt I think.

Don't usually have anything unless it is fruit - grapes or something. Maybe a square of dark chocolate if we have any in, Which we haven't at the moment.

Evening Hayley
Oh and myself usually have something light, yoghurt fruit or cheese and crackers.
When family come it's a different story they love puds, and I like making them! :O)

Grandson came for dinner tonight and I'd made a big apple pie with double cream for afters.......it was 'light' cream so I was okay lol ;O)

Sometimes I make treacle sponge, eve's pud. or a
cheesecake. I just love baking them!
