Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

We only think a thing is worth believing in if it's hard to believe.

I never cease being dumfounded by the unbelievable things some believe.

Check which way the bath water swirls when you pull the plug. I've no idea what this will tell you!

If the World wasn't round then Rainbows would be straight lines..................I've just been looking at a beautiful one :)

I always thought the world was a slight ellipse and tilted on its axis with a big iron prong going right through it at the poles.....these prongs stuck out so that the explorers could have somewhere to stick their flags to say they had arrived.....

I understand that in the northern hemisphere the water goes down the plughole clockwise and vice versa in the southern.......tried watching this in Australia and was told off for wasting a holiday staring down the drainhole......still don't know.....

I don't know how the water sticks on the planet either......and what would happen if the earth span the other way round......would we get planet sick....

I went off to Google water going down the plughole and found this

"If you took two identical sinks in the UK and in Australia and did an identical experiment in both places (every aspect of the experiment would need to be completely identical!) then it is likely that the water will go one way in the UK and the opposite way in the sink down under.

However, lots of other factors - such as the shape of your sink, how you pulled the plug out, even which tap you used to fill the sink can have a much bigger effect. Try out a number of sinks in this country and see if you always get the same result!

There is an effect called the Coriolis effect which is due to the fact that the earth spins around. On a large scale it can have an effect on weather systems. Hurricanes and tornadoes almost always spin anti-clockwise in the Northern hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern hemisphere.""

So now we all know!?!? lol

There isn't a top or bottom of space so you are always the right way up or upside down. You could even be both at the same time.

Dermot

Dermot Report 29 Jun 2008 20:01

According to the Moon landing reports, the colour of the sky from there is black.

What do you think?

Sharron - just like how I felt coming home from the pub last night.
