Pippi - Actually there aren't plenty of single guys to SAFELY flirt with these days!

I will add that this is all done in public and never secretly, and if the wives didn't like me, I wouldn't get dinner invites as a SINGLE female to make up numbers would I?

I cant say I have ever flirted with a married friends husband, its not something I would concider as I would hate it to be taken the wrong way,and I wouldnt wish to cause any embarresment or unrest between them or with me,

Most of the marrried couples I know would not tolerate it,,a laugh and joke but noting in any way sugestive, they would not want my friendship, regardless of how secure their relationship..

...But peoples views differ, and some dont mind, and if theres no problem caused then no harm done,

Tania, I agree with you, Pink yes I feel it is wrong.

Pippi - I have only ever once dated a married man... I didn't know he was married and when I found out I told his wife!!

So yes my flirting is only ever HARMLESS FUN!!

very true, didnt mean to offend, you are right-a lot of weirdos going around now,and your friends obviously trust you and their hubbies totally,i wasnt aware you had all been friends for over 20 years, thats more like family than friends after all those years,im sorry if i offended you,no harm intended

Kay

you put..... "a laugh and joke but nothing in any way suggestive"

flirting doesn't have to be suggestive....... I'm aware of boundaries and have the class and manners enough not to cross them, I promise!!

PinkDiana

PinkDiana Report 22 Jun 2008 18:47

I get laughs, jokes, cuddles etc and play up to the fact they tell me I am lovely..... but I am never suggestive!!

right i think ive got it now, lol.they treat you more like a little sister, that isnt flirting, but to answer your original question, flirting as i see it is a no-no with married men,i wouldnt do it and wouldnt want another woman doing it with my OH ',just my opinion though

Devils advocate here -

If it's just a laugh and a joke, their wifes don't mind (but are you sure of this or are they just humouring you whilst hoping you would just FGS stop) and if it would never go any further (any further where? in what direction?) - then just why are you asking the question?

I suffer with jealousy but i have found I would only feel jealous if i wasnt part of the group and felt pushed out. If it is a group of people who know each other very well, maybe a little bit of it is ok.

But there is a very fine line and it goes wrong it can be awful,

Broggy - asking the question because a person who doesn't know me made a comment about me cuddling one of my married male friends!

And as I am human it made me think!!

That's all!

PinkDiana

PinkDiana Report 22 Jun 2008 19:00

Caz - to quote 1 male friends new girlfriend who met me for the first time....... she said "I was worried about meeting you cos I've heard so much about you, but you included me and didn't fawn over my man, so by my standards you can stay!"

Maria

Maria Report 22 Jun 2008 19:01

Wasn't being personal, said I was playing devils advocate. That's all.

But if the person who commented doesn't even know you and you're sure your friends and their wives are ok with it then I wouldn't worry.

PinkDiana

PinkDiana Report 22 Jun 2008 19:02

Broggy - Sorry didn't mean to sound as if you had offended me!! You haven't!! ;o)

That sums it perfectly for me Pink,

My OH and I work in the same place, I have a laugh with his male mates, he with my female ones. If it happened whilst i wasnt there Id be furious as I dont think thats on.

Its all about honesty and truth with each other.

pink-can of worms comes to mind, lol! I thinkopinions will depend on experiences,i had an experience not long ago with a woman at work who was flirting with my OH (who works at same lpace but different shift),i was getting all kinds of reports of her behaviour and could do nothing(due to my position),he couldnt see it,but after pointing it out,in no uncertain terms,he spoke to her and it stopped-like i say experiences will influence opinions
