This theme keeps popping up with the old show me the evidence slant.from non believers....lets put it another way show me the evidence that spirits and ghosts don't exist

But answerable!

There has not been a celebrity medium yet who has not been exposed as a fake.

There has never been a haunting that has been verified by scientifically acceptable criteria.

Acclaimed psychics such as Uri Geller have been shown conclusively and scientifically to be nothing more than entertainers.

I could go on and on......but ask me what evidence you would like to show that they don''t exist, and I will endeavour to provide it.,

Now show me the evidence for the other side of the argument!

I believe in spirits and an afterlife but I do find it bizarre that anyone would want to buy a dvd of a seance - seems really distasteful to me, especially when it's about people trying to call up the spirits of celebrities. For me any contact with the spirit world is personal and pure and not about other's peoples profit or entertainment.'

Eldrick, why would anyone want to prove what they believe to you? I believe what I believe and you believe what you believe - seems a happy state of affairs to me:)

I couldnt care less if people want to prove it to me or not. Its a matter of total and supreme indifference to me.

But they seem keen enough to tell me that there is such things as ghosts and spirits....is it therefore unreasonable to ask for some sort of evidence?

As far as evidence to ssy that they do exist, have you been on a paranormal vigil, I have. Did you see doors flying open by themselves with no one anywhere near them - I did
Did you hear sighing in am empty room - I did
Did you have a simulatnious failing of everyones torch that rectified itself at the same time - I did
Did you experience trigger objects moving in a locked off room - I did
Don't need to provide you with any evidence other than my own experiences

Eldrick if its of 'supreme indifference' to you why keep raking it up...you have your beliefs I have mine and I dont think 4 pages of posts is a deafening silence

I use more than wikipedia to research Fry and his fellow pretenders. They have been exposed so many times it is unreal that they continue to make such huge amounts of money from public diplays.

My opinion of them is not high.

And tracy Higgs cancelling a show due to unforeseen circumstances...lol...well, come on. Even you have to laugh at the irony of that!

You don't seem to be supremely indifferent to me, Eldrick but I can't prove that you're not.

I don't say that ghosts or spirits or whatever you want to call them *do* exist, I just believe that they do. I have no evidence or proof but then I'm not trying to convince or persuade anyone. I also believe that God and Papua New Guinea exist but - never having seen them - I have no proof for those either.

Because there is none. A big difference between beliefs and evidence.

The supreme indifference bit = I am supremely indifferent as to whether people feel that they have to prove anything to me.

Our experiences may not be yours Eldrick the Merciless, but your beliefs are not mine. For crying out loud.

Go on a serious organised vigil and you may experience something, you may not...I did several vigils without success before spirits made contact.and do tell us were you go to research Colin and his 'fellow pretenders'.....I'm amazed its not appeared in the national press.

OK, then Uggers.....are you really telling me that Colin Fry, Derek Acorah and people like them are communicating with spirits and relaying messages back to the living.....?

I have no problem if you do, as its a totally free world and you can believe in anything you like.

It would be nice for someone to come outright and say to me 'These people speak to the dead and I totally so believe them'.

I would then shut up, go away and that would be the end of that - until the next thread on psychics and ghosts :-)

It is in the national press, Colin, and its one of the reaons the law has been changed to try to prevent this lot from carrying on the way they do. Hopefully they will be totally banned from profiting from the grief of bereaved and vulnerable persons.

Did the mediums not march on parliament to try to prevent this law being passed?

I've shown you the evidence in my own experiences...you have shown me nothing only some hare brained entry to an on-line encycolpedia that has quite happily let me accuse Colin Fry of being a Martian

Eldricks may not have the same experiances but he has the right to post and the right to an opinion .
My opinion is that the more I have looked into the exsistance of such things the more I am convinsed that there is no proof and without that proof I will not and do not believe
